Hi
Does anyone have any decent 2nd hand jacking points for a 96.?

Will be fitting a new sill and would like to prepare it in advance with jacking points on, prior to fitting the new sill.

I know Malbrad has them, but at£45 each, plus postage, that's more than a £100.....

AS A SUGGESTION,YOU CAN SOURCE THE JACKING POINTS FROM A 'SCRAP' 99/C900. THAT'S WHAT I DID...
SIMPLY TAKE THE ANGLE GRINDER,AND CUT OUT THE SILL SECTION WITH JACKING POINT STILL ATTACHED.

HOWEVER,THE AMOUNT OF TIME,TO SEPERATE,THE JACKING POINTS,FROM THE SILL SECTION,BY BUZZING OUT THE SPOT WELDS,OR GRINDING OFF RUSTY METAL,THEN TRYING TO CLEAN UP THE JACKING POINTS,WHICH ARE INVARIABLY SQUASHED,THROUGH YEARS OF MISUSE....

Ah, the man of CAPITALS. I dropped some wheels of for you once I think. Met your mum!

I could in fact cut off the old ones from my current sill, that's going to be replaced, if need be.
It would just make life easier, (and boy I like an easy life), if I could find a couple of decent 2nd hand ones.
I draw the line at £100 for a pair of new ones.!

I'm not from Yorkshire or Aberdeen, so don't consider myself to be particularly tight with money!!!! Ha Ha Ha

900 jacking points are slightly different, but will work. You can also buy a two stroke jack and have your welder chap knock up a pair of simple brackets for it:

Very interesting!

Never did get the jacking points, but started the sill job today. Will probably delete the jacking points, as suggested elsewhere.

The old sill that came off was in reasonable condition, but the corrosion around the jacking points, on the inside, was clear to see.
Split layers of corrosion.
The fixing of the jacking points, certainly encourages corrosion around them!

Really happy to find that the inner sills are solid, so should be a good job, which will be finished tomorrow. Then POR 15 on the inside from a spray can, through a long lance, followed by a ton of wax!

I've also found a really good welder.
Welds aluminium and stainless too.
Does mobile work as well, around the area where I live (Fife).
