Looking for a serviceable passenger door for a Saab 96, preferably in Scotland, and preferably from the 2 stroke era, even better if it's 1962....
But I am realistic that if I have to modify a later door I will, (I assume they fit in the hole?!) and I'm prepared to travel north, south, east, or west if we can't find a way to post it!

I know the sort of money a new old stock door would command, I'd also be interested in that, or cuts of a door, or a damaged but rust free door.

Basically anything that isn't troubled by the lack of the bottom 4 inches like mine is :D

I was told Malbrads stock door bottom repair panels, although I can't see it on their website - might be worth getting in touch.

I was also told that althought they are made for the V4 doors, there's not much difference between the two (if any).

Hope that helps and let us know how you get on.

Ian,

I believe that two stroke doors are different to V4 doors.
The catch/locking mechanism definitely is as my Uncle found out when restoring his two stroke.

If it's just the door bottom that you need then either a repair section or a decent used door would probably be your best and cheapest option.

Will

Cheers for the reply folks!
The passenger side of my car is heavily corroded and before I brace it I’d like to have a decent door in the hole to help check the lines.. ie use the door to help set the car properly.
Then once the car is straight I may well use the shell to sort the door, or if the door I obtain happens to be fantastic just use it...
so 2 stroke or v4, as long as the door itself fits in the hole and bolts to the hinges and hasn’t been previously butchered I’m interested :D

I'd also take a whole 96 that had any redeeming features and hopefully a decent door :D
