Got some work done today. Got both front doors aligned properly and fitted the latches to the door frames. Very happy with how this turned out, both door perfectly flush to the bodywork, but the drivers door is now quite difficult to open, so probably some more adjustment is required, hopefully only to the seals which are currently not completely secured. Next I re-connected the side and front indicators and headlights. As before, not simple - I found some corroded electrical connections so had to do some new wiring, but after installation everything worked, including the headlight raising / lowering motors. Finally I got the fuel filler, associated pipework and the petrol flap installed. Pics in next post.

Sounds good. I will definitely be around as I am currently running a B&B and am fully booked over the Summer, so I won't be too far!

Hi Angus,
It only leaves your outbox when the recipient reads it.

Out now 'cos I have read it.

Looking forward to seeing this wee beastie in the metal :geek:

Cheers

Yep that's a cracking job..
You could have stayed in his B&B Jim.. Don't leave sticky finger prints all over it, you won't get back..

Thanks very much. It did turn out rather nice, but the bonnet has a few visible imperfections when viewed in bright light. Ideally I would have got a replacement bonnet for the car as the original had suffered a few knocks over the years, but I decided to just repair it as best I could. At this point I have no intention of changing it though!

Looks great Angus, I love the colour :P
You should find the doors will get easier to open and close once the seals have bedded in a bit.

Cheers! Yep, that's what I was hoping. The seals were removed from the doors and sat in storage for probably a couple of years, so I guess they swelled out back to their original shape.

Thats the problem I had when I replaced one of my doors, I made the mistake of trying to align the door with the seal fitted. Needless to say it didn't work !
The door took a good shove to close it when the seal was first refitted but after couple of weeks things were a lot easier.

Hard to find any accommodation on Skye Mike. I would have tried Angus if I had known.

Anyway, finger marks will not be the problem. Drool marks are a different story :?

Happy days

Hi Angus, the Saab is coming together nicely now, the paintwork looks stunning, I hope to see it in the flesh sometime.
