Wondered if this was a good idea.

How about adding a tech2 section into the workshop for tech2 help and how to’s?

I haven't really seen any Tech II help and how-to posts here so I expect it would be a fairly empty section. I think the content has to exist first, really, before it's worth making a special section to put it into.
If you have any info on that subject it would be great if you could post it.

My usual workshop post are tech2 related as im self tought on it and sometimes get stuck.

My thinking was if there was a section specific to it and other members have the knowledge too then it would be easier for those posts to be noticed and help to be given in a tech2 section and overtime could build sticky threads for certain tasks.

For example ive posted in the ICE about adding a ICM3 and activating aux i feel its not really the correct section to post as its more tech2 related rather than adding speakers, head units etc.

Workshop i fell is more mechanical/hands on.

Just a thought.

I do not really see a need for a separate section, we already have the knowledge base which could be used for such ''how to's''.

Even if it had its own section you would still get some posting in the wrong section, a bit like posting in the Coffee Bar rather than this one which has ''suggestions'' in the title

I would love a Tech II section. I got one from Ant a LONG time back, took ages to get it working (mainly due to loose connections in the OBD port of 3 vehicles), finally got it to read and give me diagnostics, but really struggled to get the Global TIS to talk to it (when I finally got a working copy of that installed and running).

I'm still struggling with even basic functions and a dedicated thread where help was available would be much appreciated. I would also be able to feedback hints and tips that helped me, as I try to as I know how valuable such things have been to me.

I just noticed that :bag: i do apologises.

I must admit I frequently post in the wrong sections

Id be happy to scan through threads in a tech2 section trying to help other users out.

As you may or may not have noticed there is now a ''Tech2 Diagnostics Tool. Operation Procedures - Tips/Advice'' sticky in the Workshop.
