Can we have a separate Topic to put these in?

I hear it on the TV, radio, internet, other forums, corner shop, pub etc, etc and really don't want to hear it on a car forum also. It may be no biggy to most but I come here to hide away from that sort of bad news, not to be reminded of it.
If it's in it's own separate place I know what's there and can avoid it, it's minimal work for the site admin and allows those that want to post and read it to continue to do so but those of us that don't to be able to avoid it.

Sorry for not replying sooner.

There is not an easy answer really. There is certainly not enough traffic to justify a separate forum, or even a sub forum. An other option would be to sticky a thread and I do not feel this is the way to go. The final option would be to ask all users to use a single thread for obituaries, but it is guaranteed that some people will miss it or not be bothered to search for it, so it would fall to the mods to tidy it up again.

As it is, a post is put up, usually is commented on by a few others then it falls off the bottom of the page, and I feel this is probably the best option at the moment

Thanks for the input TFatC.
I think I'd have to disagree with the lack of traffic, I reckon there are more posts regarding this than the "Car boot" or "Free to collect" forums combined, particularly in the last year. A single thread or sticky could be a compromise though as long as everybody adhered to it otherwise it would require more mod time and intervention to tidy up any misplaced posts.
Does it cost extra to add or remove forum heading/sub headings? How about giving it a trial? I'm sure there are many who would get sick of seeing me post, "Another death at work today" if I were inclined to do so.

Even if it had its own sub forum you would still get people posting them in the Coffee Bar.

Despite there being separate forums, we still get workshop, performance, meetings, ICE etc... threads being posted in the Coffee Bar.

There are plenty of subjects that are posted in the Coffee bar that do not interest me or others.
Personally anything to do with football, motorbikes or Ian78's nightly TV viewing.
I just do not bother reading those threads.

Maybe we should have seperate sub forums for those, especially the last one
