I use a combination of Cambridge Saab (Buckingham and Stanley in Histon) - Great service and good prices, and Cecil and Larter (used to have Saab franchise now just servicing) in Bury St Edmunds. Both are highly recommended :D

Although not a SAAB specific garage, They are pretty much the only garage I trust to work on one of my cars.
Hypertech are a Japanese car specialist located in Central Scotland.
They do all work from basic servicing to upgrades. They also have a Dyno Dynamics Rolling Road, And 4 wheel laser allignment.

My 9-5 aero has just been in and had a sump drop and the picp up pipe and strainer replaced. Cost £192
It went back 2 weeks later and had a replacment turbo and a catback exhaust fitted £150.

They also do RR days,, Of which I have just organised one for UKSaabs

The three I've used and been very happy with the service/ friendliness are:

Warwick Car centre New Southgate, North london just off N Circular 0208 361 6041

Two Stroke to Turbo

Neo Bros

Just bought 4 Neuton tyres and so far they seem very good.

Hi Melle, this is my company, and whilst I try to avoid doing Saab work there (I try to keep Saabs as a hobby) if you are stuck I am sure we can do something. I tend to use Duncan Cameron at Coneyhatch near Stonehaven, he used to rally a 96 and does the work on my Saabs (up to 9000) that I don't have time or enthusiasm for. Will add his phone number later.

Edited to add Duncans phone number. Highly recommended and he, and I quote, "Loves a challenge"

Yes, I noticed in your profile that it is yours. I'm not afraid of getting stuck (it's my hobby  ), but it's my girlfriend who drives the 96V4 in and around Aberdeen mostly. She half of the time has to do without me, because I also still live and work in The Netherlands. Looks like Duncan is worth paying a visit in case of an emergency! How about Adrian Smith for parts? Are they willing to help? Or is it better to avoid Saab dealerships for classic Saab parts in the UK? I've got a workshop full of parts in NL, but when trouble arises in Scotland, the faulty part's working counterpart is in NL most of the time...

Thanks in advance for helping me out!

Hi Melle

Adrian Smith do not have a good reputation these days, although I have not used them for years and they used to be good then. Duncan is a wiz with 96s, and has a load of parts cars so can usually source what is needed, and I have a parts car as well if you need anything.

Hello,
I have just had my leaky 9-3 hood rams replaced for my 1999 Saab convertible at a fraction of the price I was quoted at my main dealer. The first time I tried my hood this year it would only go about half way before it stuttered and looking on the forum, it then became obvious that the oil I had been seeing on my drive was from my hood rams.

I booked into my main dealer who said that although I only needed 2 new rams it would be advisable to replace all four as the ‘good’ 2 would probably go very shortly. Well the quote was some £2420.50 for the four including fitting, which was well outside my budget and I questioned whether the car was worth the expenditure.

Therefore I searched the web and found Simply-Saab in Bristol who fitted four reconditioned rams for £680 + vat. Their reconditioned rams are priced at £125 each exchange, they come with a 12 month warranty and they were fitted while I waited. They were very professional and I would recommend them to any fellow Saab enthusiast.

Anyone who wishes to contact them their website address is simply-saab.com, or their phone number 01179 406121 (service department) or 01179 406151 (parts department).

Hope this helps
Christine

They are the best guys i've met in the motor trade - knowledge & commitment second to none!! They also run a blindingly fast track car as proof of there work and allways willing to help & go that extra mile.

And i'm so lucky they are only about 5 miles from me - because i WOULD travel a lot lot further to use them :D

I have had good service from 'Carlssons" in Leatherhead, Surrey.
Also, if your in Ealing - Uses.co.uk will fix anything for you.
When I travel North - I always use Motoron in Chorley - used them loads, nice people and
do whatever needs to be done. Very helpful and knowledgeable - Neil, Ron & team are a good bunch.

Cheers, Bruce.

I have read through this thread looking for the nearest Saab Specialist to Cirencester, which appears to be near Oxford. If there is one closer (and my map reading is not letting me down) I'd be glad to know any recommendations.

Thanks

H

For Glasgow area I can reccommend Schoneville Saab (saab approved service & repair), and Western Saab (main dealer).

Both on the same street but i have found Schoneville to be cheaper and possibly slightly better. For example Schoneville managed to fix my steering alignment where Western had failed, and Schoneville take more time to explain what was wrong and how best to go about fixing it.

Can anyone suggest a saab specialist near Oxford? I tried Belsyre Garage but have not been happy.
