Hi All,

It is with very mixed emotions that I am finally selling captain - My Saab 9000 Anniversary.

My Girlfriend and I are part way through the process of buying a smallholding, and he simply isn't the car for that sort of environment. I'm afraid he has to go to a new home, where he can continue flying the flag for tuned saab 9000's.

First the price: £1800 OVNO - there's not many left in this condition, let alone this level of spec - this is a 1 of a kind 9000

Next, the spec:

12 months MOT & service completed this week (T R Autos)
1998 S Reg Saab 9000 Anniversary 2.0t (apparently only 60 ever made with "S" plate)
TD04-15T (brand new in 2013)
Abbott Racing 3" downpipe with 200 cell sports cat
Jules HT Stage 3 remap (circa 270bhp)
T7 APC converted ECU (so you can run the cheaper & more available T7 solenoids)
Lightened flywheel
Custom twin exit exhaust (a bit different, but not loud like the other aftermarket options)
Abbott Racing twin-exit rear bumper
Bilstein B4 Shocks
Genuine H & R progressive springs on all 4 corners
Polybushed top engine mounts and gearbox mount
New hydraulic lower engine mount
New drive shaft bearing & replacement shaft
3.61 Aero gearbox (previously from enaidb52 on UKS)
No wheel-arch or windscreen surround rust
Refurbished calipers (BillJ/Saabits)
Brembo Discs
DS2500 pads
HEL Braided SS brake lines
2 tone beige (Sand + Alpaca?) Aero seats, with rare black piping - all 4 head rests present
Head gasket & associated work done at 150k miles ( T R Autos)
Superspoke alloys (One of the 3 types of rare 15" 7J Alloys) - the most rare 9k alloy - recently powder coated
4 new tyres in Aug/Sept last year - Conti Premium Contact 5 (the best tyre you can get for this profile)
Lots and Lots of paper work - not 100% complete, but anything from my ownership is with known people (T R Autos, SaaBits, etc)
Pro respray on front bumper
9k Aero boost gauge added in authentic fashion to original anni instrument cluster
New speakers all round
Stereo head unit not included, but have others you're welcome to
DAB aerial fitted (as seen at rear of roof)
Ice cold air-con (and always has been)
Lots of service history and paperwork (not 100%, but servicing has always been done)
Original owners docs and wallet
Original key "pattern"
Over £9000 spent during my ownership. The bill with T R Autos is at least £6,000 of that - so you can see it has been looked after above & beyond the usual.

Accessories thrown in:
A couple of spare red DI packs
A couple of old T5 APC valves
An Abbott Racing (fairly chunky) Ally intercooler
Saab 9k roof bars
Saab luggage rack
Scarab Green (body coloured) wing mirrors
3 Bar MAP sensor
Centre caps for the superspoke wheels


Bad points:
Marks and dents commensurate with age
Driver door puddle light plastic cover has just recent cracked (fairly common)
Passenger rear door-shut micro-switch faulty (doesn't affect anything, just shows on the dash)
Dent below rear drivers-side door handle (will pull out)
Rear Saab badge perished (very common)

Finally, a short word and some pics:

He has been an amazing car since I bought him on 4th June 2011. He's done a 3 week 4,500 miles road trip around europe, done the daily commute in proper smart style, done long weekly motorway commuting, and finally been a weekend vehicle (I now work from home mostly). I would have no hesitation in loading him up and going off to the continent in him tomorrow. That's about the best endorsement I think anyone can give a car. He pulls amazingly well, he's a joy in 2nd & 3rd for overtaking (depending on the speed of course), and cruises well with that really long aero box.

I do know of a lpt 4.05 ratio gearbox for sale in case you wanted to go back to the original spec box (details will be given to a confirmed buyer). I've included the link to the UKS project thread here too, please do have a read if you want more info on the history. I think I did mention a question about the health of the gearbox in the thread, but it turned out to be the driveshaft bearing in the end (fixed by T R Autos last year).

Please can you resize your photos to an acceptable resolution? Viewing them at their current size is rather difficult. (1024x768 is ideal for web page viewing) :wink:

Sorry to disappoint the rest, but captain left this afternoon to a lovely chap called Chris.

Captain has retired to the isle of white, to a non forum member.

I've given Chris a pile of spares and as much info as I could without boring him to death. Hopefully he'll sign up to both forums in due course.

Saddest day of my car-owning life.
