This was an incredible car until the engine let go quite spectacularly. Accelerating at full load in 2nd gear to slot into a gap on a busy 60mph road: bang, rattle, nothing but flames out of the rear window! Thankfully the flames stopped immediately as I pulled onto the verge.
I haven’t had a proper look, but the RAC man said there’s a hole in the sump, so it’s probably thrown a rod. It dropped all its oil and the low coolant warning is on.
It was formerly owned by Atterz, and there’s a project thread here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=137637
It’s got a few good bits on it: 3” Downpipe, big intercooler, induction kit, custom alcantara steering wheel, lots of LED bulbs, and carbon wrap on various interior plastics. Also has a JZW stage 3 map on it, and I have the i-flash cable and the files to put it back to standard, stage 1 soft, stage 1 aggressive, or stage 3.
It’s done about 124,500 miles, and it’s the expensive road tax version (£495). I changed all the coil packs less than a year ago, both nearside wheel bearings, and the rear brakes were just replaced. It has Uniroyal RS3s with plenty of tread all round.
I’ve got some spares to go with it too: A set of front discs and pads (OEM ones from PFS), Shell Ultra Helix oil and a filter (ready for the next change, was doing it every 6k), and an OEM clutch and dual mass flywheel. I bought the clutch and flywheel because as soon as I changed the coil packs the clutch was slipping a bit, but it seemed to calm down and stop doing it so I never got around to getting it fitted.
The car is located near Tavistock in Devon. I’ve had a look on Ebay and replacement engines are around £750 to £850, but I haven’t got the inclination to get it fixed at the moment. I’d prefer for someone to come and take it away for £500 as a project, or to break.
