Hi Guys
Just want to know before I go arranging anything. Who would be up for a gathering down Kent/South East way? My idea would be hold it at a pub of some sort. I am thinking maybe Maidstone, Ashford or on the coast near to New Romney.

Just want to know if anyone would show or be interested if so I would then get it arranged along with a date.

Ben

Yes,count me in! I know a pub with good food near Charing that welcomes car clubs (closed Tuesdays though) and my nephew owns a pub near Ashford but the food is 'Gastro'. I am up for anywhere though!

Ok Fellas sounds like a plan I just got to get some things together like dates and that.

Where about's in Charing was you thinking? I used to live in Pluckley.

I've been to a number of Kent meets in the past.
Any meeting needs someone (or two) to organize a regular venue. There are lots of enthusiasts out there but a meeting needs a number of regular owners who will be a core and will turn up even if no one else does. Kent meets used to meet near Dartford, this meant that Essex owners could get there relatively easily.

Yes quite right Andy, think hardest part is choosing the venues and times!

Maidstone would be central Kent really. How about end of January, I'm trying to think of a good venue.

dunno how I didn't spot this thread earlier! :bag:
Maidstone would be an excellent choice of location

There are a few places I can think of off the top of my head that would be suitable I think.

In Maidstone itself close to the m20 there is The Poppyfields - a new carvery type place where the food is good and reasonably priced. Also kiddy friendly if you can't get a babysitter.

The Wateringbury a mile or two down the a26 towards Tunbridge Wells.

There's a pub I can't remember the name of near Jades crossing (Detling) on the a249, it does excellent food, although parking may be limited. There are also quite a few more not too far a drive into the sticks all around.

I think the first one at least should be relativelyeasy to find.

I'm only 10mins from Maidstone/Detling area, less in the Aero!

Always up for a meet up, might not be in my car though depending on how my little project develops.

Tell me where and when and I'll be along... no guarantees which car I'll arrive in though.

Make it to the west of Tonbridge Wells and I may show

Just need a greasy spoon cafe with a big gravel car park for the inevitable wheelspins

there is the Neville Crest & Gun on the A26 just to the Eridge side of Tunbridge Wells that is also a very decent pub - nice setting and decent parking too.
