UPDATE This has been cancelled. 20th September The 10th Annual Classics at the Mill - a super day of family fun and classic cars.

THIS is still on 11th October Swedish Day :D

I would love to go, but we usually tie in a trip to Swedish day, with a a week or so in the "Deep South".
However, with the ongoing pandemic, and local lock downs appearing here and there, with almost no notice, it's not really practical.
It's 470 miles each way from Fife to Crewkerne, so the return fuel bill is of the order of £150.
It's therefore also, not really practical to come down just for Swedish day alone.
Next year, was the cry!!

Unless things change again inside a month, it looks as if this will not be allowed to happen. No more gatherings of groups of more than 6 people, indoors or outdoors, for the time being. :(

Haven't heard anything from Robin, Alex or John recently so assume it's still happening. Must get the 96 out and polished (the 900 is away being fettled). I could take 2 cars by towing the 96 with the 9-3 but I'd quite like a run out in the 96 as it sounds good and goes well (Jetex exhaust and bigger main jet plus wider venturi (Solex 40AI)). Haslebury Mill is, literally, just down the road from me.

Surely this can't go ahead? The rule of 6 seems at odds with it by some large margin.

Ah, a very different day by the look of it. More like a trip to the pub to keep it within the rules I guess.

I doubt I'll go, I travel to these things with the local club usually and would therefore be alone for this. It'd be nice to see the cars and people but with the required distancing I think it might be a bit too different to usual.

I went to a local classic drive out type meet in August. Despite seeing Geoff and Caroline there I ended up feeling a bit lonely. I hate feeling like I'm tagging along like a 3rd wheel to a couple or some people who are close friends but it can be a bit like that sometimes when you travel alone to these things, add in 2m distancing and having to sit alone to eat and I think I wouldn't enjoy it. Usually there would be some other people not bringing family etc with them to interact with but such interaction is severely limited now, for good reason. I must not bring this virus home, the consequences would be grave.

None of that is the fault of the fantastic organisers or anyone at all, just an impact of the restrictions on me that I've noticed and is a specific perspective on it that I have.

Have fun those who are going!

Just to add..this isn't the official Swedish Day..it's a meeting for those who can't wait for the main show next May.
You will need to book your place and register for "track and Trace" on arrival.

Put a few more faces to names.

Nice meet - good to see old friends and meet some new ones. Lance Cole was very busy with his camera!
