Is anyone taking part in this?

I have seen it on a few motoring sites so I decided to get a rally plate for it (only £12) and park the Beetle up at the front of the drive for the day.

Sounds interesting although not sure many will pass on our little estate. I could pull the TR7 to the front of the drive, guy opposite has a Riley Pathfinder and a '50's Bentley in his drive so could get him to take the covers off. Always assuming the weather is good.

We get a fair few people passing on our road and it gives me a date to focus on for getting the Beetle polished and idling properly. The idle obviously isn't necessary for a static event on my own drive but it's a date to aim for nonetheless!

I'm all ready for the Classics For Carers stay at home car show now. Polished the Beetle and tidied the front drive and hedge.

Also got the pesky VW T5 out of the way after a 30 minute battery charge was needed.

Looks as if the weather might be good tomorrow so will uncover the TR7 in the morning and take it to the front of the drive. I have got the plaque to put on it. Have not managed to see my neighbour (he is over 70 and hiding from the plague) but will see if he uncovers the Bentley (and gets his Audi out of the way).

I'll give mine a wash in the morning. Blossom keeps landing on it :(
Doubt anyone will see it though, as I’m in a quiet cul-de-sac.
Also don’t have a printer at home so can’t make a sign (downside of home working is not using the work printer)

:)

Looks good. A post on some form of social media containing @classics4carers, @NHSCharities and #classicsforcarers seems to be the done thing along with the Just Giving page. They were aiming to raise £1500 and seem to be well over, which is nice.

I have used this as an excellent excuse to spend an afternoon polishing the car!

Excellent, there will be lots of people doing it but they will be very well spread out across the country!

How did you get on? Lots of people stopped to have a look at mine as it's on a through road. Lots of little kids on bikes pointing and tugging on their parent's sleeves, which was good to see.

I had to pop out to the supermarket (in the Saab) and apparently loads of people were stopping while I was out.

Was not good weather in RTW, very overcast with brief bouts of moisture in the air. My road on a small estate is generally quiet although there is a path at the end into local woods but there were even less than usual passing today, just a few neighbours walking the dog really. Bit of a disappointment but at least I got to run the car 15m to the end of the drive and back, probably all it will get this year.

This event was allowed to run in the Coffee Bar due to the current situation.
But post event its now being moved to:
''Past Meets & Events'' The place to discuss events & meets that have already happened, post photos & stories etc.

By the way no photo's but I pulled the 99 out of the garage this morning, but moved it back in mid afternoon due to the dark clouds that preceded the rain.
