There were moments in the design process where I felt you'd lost your way a little, but I'm impressed that it has turned out so well and don't mind admitting my misgivings were unfounded.

UPDATE...
Following the Saab Festival in Sweden, the car was left on display at the Saab Museum in Trollhattan for two weeks. It was then transported to Maptun for them to finalise their extended performance tuning works. We shortly expect to receive the initial performance statistics once the 96ss is put on dyno. Maptun are confident that the performance figures will be awesome!

For the techies amongst our followers, Maptun have been grappling with the 100mm air mass meter and the bigger injectors. To our knowledge, this has never been done before on a T8 engine. Maptun are working on the recalibration of the air fuel ratios (AFR) in order to accommodate the larger kit and then design specific software to accommodate this.

In addition, unique bespoke shims for the valve lifters have had to be made so as to hold the valves open longer thereby allowing even more petrol/air to go into the combustion chamber with the resultant effect that that the engine will rev higher.
All of us at Neo Brothers are having to be patient and allow Maptun to do their work – cutting edge stuff cannot be rushed. We will keep you informed!!

When Maptun finish, the 96ss will be transported back to the Saab Museum and will remain there on display for two weeks. After that, we will collect it and return it to our premises so as to prepare it for its UK unveiling at the International Saab Clubs Meeting 2013 which will take place at Wicksteed Park, Kettering on 2nd - 4th August 2013. For the event, we have had made some special commemorative Neo Brothers T shirts with the 96ss printed on the back:

I'll stickify this for a bit while we await the results from Maptun...

Rest assured we are as keen as everybody else to have the performance figures from Maptun. At present, they are keeping them under their hat because they want to make sure they squeeze every last reliable HP and Nm of torque. Perfection takes time!

Neo 96ss T-shirts
Unfortunately, they are not for sale.
We have a limited number of these special edition T-Shirts that have been made to support the UK unveiling of the Neo 96ss which will take place at 12 noon on Saturday 3rd August 2013 at the Saab International Meeting.
Following the unveiling, the T-shirts will be distributed at the event over a two day period.

Performance information is beginning to trickle through from Maptun during their tuning process. BHP is currently at 470 and 520nm of torque with scope to increase to 500BHP plus!

Restrictions have been identified by Maptun and we therefore need to undertake some modifications. The car has for the moment been limited to 470BHP. These modifications will be done by us in due course. At present, we have to bring the car back from Sweden for its UK unveiling on the 3rd of August at the International Saab meeting at Wicksteed Park, Kettering.

We have however obtained a short video of the 96ss going through one of its tuning processes and even as is, it sounds pretty good - see and hear for yourselves!

To commemorate the unveiling of the 96ss we commissioned the making of a detailed model of the car - see photographs below.

The models will come in kit form so that they can be built by the real enthusiasts.

We have commissioned a unique 96SS 1:43 scale model (10cms in length) which comes in an easy to assemble kit form for the enthusiasts that prefer to build their own model.

The kit comprises some forty individual parts in addition to the decals and livery of Neo Brothers.

Body paint is not supplied so the modeller can paint the car in their preferred colour.

Please note that as with most kits some of the plastic parts may require trimming.

See the images below of the completed model to assist in the assembly process.

The kits can be found at the below link!

This is not a toy since the parts are very small and it is not appropriate for young children.
