Just a quick thought, looking at the two pictures, doesn't the 99 look like such a quality car compared with the Escorts in the photo above?

naa, I just mean generally. The 99 looks much more complete compared with the Escort. No doubt that makes it heavier and less of a weapon on the stage but I've never played the weight-card before so not going to start now.

"YOU SEE I NEVER MENTIONED, EXACTLY WHICH, NINE YEAR OLD........ "

Dear Sir Mango
You look a bit old for a 9 year old - but then again I am a MY77 and still suffering from my birth depression.
A heartwarming story; Its like almost being there when reading it. It almost makes you want to get hold of a 99T and start a similar project - even though I dont know how to drive, weld, change tyres or unmounting the dashboard (but thats a different story)...

Congratulations on having your dream come trough - despite the look off your hands :) But the sweetness of the victory must be twice as sweet when you can see both effort and result in one.

Tut, tut, tut.

If you've got time to laze around drinking beer, you've got time to fettle up MRS MANGO'S c900 rag top. How can she ever re-enact Thelma and Louise without the wheels? :?

son's gone inside to watch telly... birdie out in the garden by himself.

If you drench the motor with WD40 (I mean squirt it into the case through the cooling slots until it's dripping out) the car will go about twice as fast as normal. My friend kept this secret from me for about 2 years when we were growing up... every time my back was turned he'd be there with the WD40 can making any slot-car of his much faster than mine in a matter of seconds without making any other effort... git...

I guess it improves conductivity in the motor or something?

Mate - that's just AWESOME! These two pics must just make the whole thing seem even more worthwhile...even at 25 to 2 in the morning
I'd be best not to mention a different Saab turbo at 10 to 2 in the morning a few weeks back

I don't think I had expanded the parameters that far. I mean, obviously, if my mum was driving birdies car and birdie was driving the brown one then the brown one would be the quicker car...

Let's play a game. :D

Buy it now price $10,000 for the brown one. At today's exchange rates that is £6,000. By comparison, what should that make Birdies Clarion Replica worth?

Bonzo ~~~~ X2 = £12,000

may i point out to you birdie this is a project car, therefore it will never be finished

this is true on all project cars, there is always something to fiddle with and finetune or remake because you now have the skills to make a better version

BIRDIE, as you have a fascination with Sweden and all things Swedish, I trust this bit of flag waving is to your liking.
