Just fitted jl audio speakers in my dash want to sort doors next, I have speakers in the doors but can't find an amp! I have checked boot and under seats, did they do a system with door speakers and no amp?

If you have Saab door speakers, you'll definitely have a Saab amp.
The amp will be located under the front left hand seat if it's a saloon.
If it's a convertible, I think the amp was located behind the left side rear quater panel.

I will look again! Do you know how much differance using 4ohm speakers in doors will make compared with 2 ohm? Not a lot of choice when it comes to 2 ohm 6.5" speakers and with jl's fitted in the dash would like good quality in doors As well but only seem to find jbl gto's listed as 2 ohm?

AS there's twice the resistance in a 4ohm speaker, the music will have much more trouble reaching the speaker and the volume of the bass heard from the doors will effectively be halved.

This is a very simplified explanation, but as the bass is already pretty poor, the last thing you want to do is reduce the volume of the bass put out by the speakers.

are you sure you have the 7 speaker system?

my 04 Aero only had the 4 speaker stereo :(

might explain the lack of an amp under the seat

oh and the amp on the convertible is under the back seat

There's definetly speakers in the doors, will look Monday again for the amp. Any ideas on whether 1 or 2 is + or - I have gone with 1+ but I have seen other forums where some have gone the other way? The picture on the back of the original speakers can be interpreted either way!

Good news, found the amp, I was looking for something a little bigger, not much to it is there! When i last fitted an amp to a car it was a fair bit bigger than that, still under the front seat near the sill, also re done the +- on the speakers, i cant tell any differance, door speakers will be done next week all things well.
thanks
all.
