just bought this car , it's the first saab and first convertible i've owned .
it has 7 speaker system with the head unit that can't be upgraded.
i'm assuming i have an amp under the passenger seat (check later)as i believe that the 7 speaker set up is amplified .
if this is the case and power for the speakers is on tap can i assume that a speaker upgrade would be a big improvement in sound quality per pound spent .

Any recommendations?

cheers

vin

I just checked and I don't have an amp under the seat :?

Can it be anywhere else as it doesn't sound like it's lacking in power just clarity could be improved

It's on the left behind the side trim next to the back seat in the convertible.

Remove rear seat base and seat back. Side trim screws are behind the speaker grille.

Is it there on all the 7 speaker convertibles ? I won't take it apart if I know it's there for sure :D

By the way , I seen Carlson badge in your avatar photo and didn't know what it was so I just looked it up . I bet your car puts a smile on your face when you drive it 8)

Thanks for all the help

Vin

If you have seven speakers the amp will be there.

The Carlsson is fun, but I don't drive it much. It belongs to my wife!! :) But I quite enjoy the 9-5 Aero...
