My test conditions will not be hard.

I will see if it picks up DAB where other DAB's didn't! A little trip down the M4 will sort this!

If it's easy to use. Does it switch to other DAB frequencies on long journeys?

Does the bluetooth work? Easily??... i.e. Can I get it to connect? :park:

How many stoopid add on bits do I need to fit it?

Cheated a bit with this one... I already have a DAB roof mounted aerial. It should be compatible... I also have the DIN reducer pod for the AS2 cage!! :D

Time will tell!

I have a Siemens radiogram that sounds really nice, you are welcome to it if you have a 240v inverter. The teak cabinet is really nice but records only play if you are parked :D

That's alright.
The car is only used for posing anyway.
Usually parked with me in casual wear, my wife in a cocktail frock, large glasses of Campari
to hand, and a picnic rug and hamper close by.
Your offer sounds like a match made in Heaven!

All the prep work has been done. I hope! Aerials re-routed, AS2 removed, external power source fitted, finger cut etc...

Other damage was to the gear surround. The centre pin snapped pushing the fag lighter socket through it.

No biggie! I fitted another surround along with two new bulbs. :park:

Add ons needed? A SMA/B convertor socket. Cost £3.50. Not too bad! Another add on was a Pioneer CD-R320 remote. Not needed. Just fun! :D

Cost was £16.

Total add ons were under £20...

So far!

Tis fitted! Kindof. Too many wires means it is about 1" proud of the dash.

Lost the fm altogether... Not overly happy with the flimsy DAB aerial connection... I couldn't find a suitable screw in aerial.

Other than these niggles. BLOOMING HECK! The stereo is pretty good!

It plays DAB, it changes colour. It connected to me phone to play the songs easily. It didn't do so well via AUX to the phone.

I will sort the niggles out. Hopefully......

I have a Sony Bluetooth/DAB/CD/USB/FM job. Apart from the DAB (which I haven't got an aerial for yet) it works great, good sound quality. Can't remember the model number off hand, I'll look it up and report back.

Here it is http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/dab-car-stereos/sony-mex-n6001bd-dab-radio-with-cd-mp3-player-and-bluetooth. I got mine for under £100 in some sale or other. Comes with a mic for using the bluetooth Phone Hands free function. Decent power output for a head unit 55wpc. My only gripe is it didn't come with a DAB aerial. surely they could have chucked in a cheap windscreen one just to get you started!

And as it's an Alfa, a cloud of steam from under the bonnet?

Pioneer DEH 8700 DAB BT stereo is now fully fitted. I like it. I like the remote as well. I am surprised that the only aerial I could find is a internal glass mount one. Saying that, it is pretty good.
