I've just fitted a new double din, sat nav, dvd, etc, and I'm having trouble trying to get hold of a fascia to give it that factory fitted look. I've checked eBay and they only have the fascia's for the 05 and on, or the fascia's to go from double to single.

So, can anybody point me in the direction of a front fascia for a double din head unit to fit a 54 plate 9-5.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Paul.

Try your local stereo car parts type place. Mine was a universal one, audioleads type thing, that you could adjust the depth. The surround was black and had to be sprayed with as close a colour match I could find and is held in with a rubbery gumgum type bluetac stuff. Standard for the 9-5 ;)

I've got approx a 3 mil gap running around the outside. The radio is black so the colour won't really match anyway so not too worried. Just want it all flush. Will look for a universal one that sounds like a plan, but would still like to know if anyone knows were the proper one can be bought.

Thanks Mr Saab Nut

This is the one I have and allows the stereo to be moved forward to be flush with the dash. It does mean replacing the whole cage for the stereo though: ebay link

Aye, that's the one I have though for some reason it wouldn't fit my car right with the plastic clips for the surround. so had to gummy them into position. This does have the added benefit of it being rattle proof though so a result in the end if you ask me.

I painted the surround so it wasn't a complete colour change through the levels from sid to stereo to acc. Does look better. Will get a picture up in a bit if you want?

My ICE installer got a dedicated double din fascia surround kit from Kenwood. According to their website they're readily available for both 9-5's and 9-3's http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/tech/dd/kits/saab/

If you check out this thread (second post down) you can see a piccie of it fitted in my MY02 9-5 - which I believe will have same dash as your own ...?

So they're the right colour even though it says black? Is it an adapter which you use the stereo cage in or is it a direct cage for the head unit?

Thanks for all the help, and sorry I haven't posted earlier to say so. Think I will try to get the one from the eBay link. Been trying to get a wifi dongle for it too, again having trouble. Just want to get a wifi connection to my mobile so I can access the Internet on it. Can anyone point me in the wright direction.

Thanks

Paul

pug - to answer your question ...... No, they are in fact supplied as black (as per the website) but my installer was quite meticulous in spraying it to match the OEM fascia colour, so as to give the overall finish a 'stock' look. Sorry, should have made that clear in previous post. And it's just a surround to fill the gap that would be there if you didn't use one.

As regards the 'cage' - I believe that came as part of the Kenwood unit itself (mine is model 8220bt). I still have my OEM AS2 system with its original cage.

(not 100% sure I've explained that very well - but I hope so !! )

Explained well. Pretty much what I've done with mine but a better job then although my colour match isn't 100%. I think my biggest problem really is I need to lay my hands on some satin or matt laquer for it to look right.
