Hello lovely people. I have had a quick scan through here and it may be that my lack of lunch has generated a sugar low so I am not concentrating enough to see the topic that I require so please can someone help me. I would like to install an aftermarket double DIN stereo and I am aware I need a wiring harness to 'plug and play'. I am not bothered about the steering wheel controls so if someone could point me in the direction of a nice simple solution to wire in a new piece of lovely kit to an older piece of lovely Swedish wiring I would really be grateful. My baby is an 02 convertible SE and we are very happy together.
Thanks and stay safe everyone.

loads on ebay. You will most likely end up at dynamic sounds who will also do a surround and the kit to connect the steering wheel if you do decide to go that way.

They are flippin expensive though! I got a generic standard connector and used the wiring diagram on the saab HU to move some wires around to match the HU (Kenwood).

In my Alfa I went with the Dynamic Sounds at £35 as came with wheel controls.

Thank-you both, I have one now and it's all hooked up and working. Except that there is no sound from the speakers! If the amp is supposed to be on the passenger's right side next to the heater controls (is this right?) then I don't have one. The previous stereo worked intermittently, sound output-wise, with longer periods of silence then noise so there is another problem somewhere, any thoughts?
Clearly this isn't the end!

My Atoto A6 Pro came with 3 different harnesses.
1 Was a perfect fit for the Saab. No mods needed.

Long shot - if the speaker impedances in the '02 cars is like the later ones - some being 2ohm - is it possible that the aftermarket HU is not compatible with that low impedance and has a detection/protection that won't allow the HU to operate to avoid damage to the amp stage? What is the make and model of the new unit?
(I may be putting too much faith in the cunning of ICE designers here!)
