Thanks so I wired it all up with high levels inputs to second amp. Still no bass! Maybe not getting enough power to run amp properly I'll have to rewire the power cable to battery. BTW cut rlin and rrin and connected straight to speakers still no bass it must be filtering it before the amp in the boot. So I've switched to rca's in the vein hope it'll finally give me some bass when I wire it to battery.

I Dont get it, what's splitting the frequencies if I only have one amp in trunk? I thought amp1 usually sent bass to front door speakers

You may have a car that had an aftermarket system that has been removed badly, and the original bits just thrown back in. Have you checked the door speakers are originals? If they are, and they look OK, you may have a faulty head unit.

It was doing the same thing with the original head unit. I'm wondering if there is an amp on the bit under the stereo behind aircon panel? BTW if I turn it fully to the left it sounds great all the distortion is just on right hand side

Just wanted to ask the ground from my head unit goes into the wiring harness right? I don't have to ground it to a physical location other than the harness is that correct?

There's only the one amp.

I think you need to check the speakers. Get the door card off and have a look. Two screws under the door pull handle. Lever off the face of the handle. The lever off the poppers around the bottom and lift out. Unhook the door handle cable. The speaker is attached to the door and the cable runs up towards the mirror.

I would swap them and see if the fault follows. If it does, it’s the speaker. If not, it’s the amp or head unit.

Yep was the amp. Works fine now I've replaced the amp.
I've installed a second amp to drive 6x9s now as well and I have a couple of problems.

1. Level too low compared to stock amp. Louder in front (stock amp) than the back 6x9s powered by kenwood amp. I've taken rca from headunit going into a gain boost switch plugged into kenwood 500w 2 channel amp
(Kenwood Kacps702ex)
Even with everything turned to full gain it isn't even close to the volume from the stock amp.

What can I do to have louder output to my 6x9s?

Also have just bought a subwoofer with attached 1200watt mono amp to feed it. But what I'm wondering is how the hell do I connect to the kenwood amp as it doesn't have an output? Secondly I noticed the mono amp has an output can I use that at all or will it filter out high frequencies?

Lastly I'm getting static clicks and pops from the 6x9 s sounds like bus on power line how can I get rid of those?
