OK guys having some issues here bought a new Double din stereo fitted it today however I've now ran into issues.

The new unit is broken as it doesn't power up so I'm returning it. I decided to re install the old unit however the live cable doesn't seem to be getting power I've checked all fuses nothing is blown checked the old and new unit direct to battery old unit powers up new unit doesn't) this is how I know new unit is knackered)

Does anyone have any idea what could have happened?

If you have checked that you have 12v on the live feed with a meter then you have blown something in the old unit.

Although nothing obvious is blown, something probably is on that circuit if there's no power. Possibly caused by the new unit failing when you tried it.

However, just to check the obvious; is the key turned in the ignition? Have you just visually checked the fuses or did you swap the radio fuse for a fresh one?
