Welcome! :)

No. The audio in the 2003-2006 cars is unique to Saab. You can just swap the CD changer/player.

The fascia panel on your 05 car is just the control panel. It is also the main link between the three computer networks in the car. It cannot be removed from the car. The audio tuner/amp is hidden behind the aircon/heater control panel with the CD player hung beneath it. Lever out the sircon panel and unplug it, then slide out the amp and CD player in one piece before separating them.

Try a wanted ad in the classifieds, look on eBay or look in the classifieds for anyone breaking the same age of vehicle.

If you are on Facebook, try "Ron Saab Leeds".

Not necessarily. It will probably work if it’s come from a similar car. But ideally you need to “remove” the old one and “add” the new one with a Tech2 computer. The 9-3 is not as secure as the older models in this respect. You can do the “remove” even if the old unit is missing!
