Just bought a second hand SAAB radio for my 9-3 vert and it says locked when I switch it on. The guy I got it from says I need tech 2 to make it work but a local man has told me that if it wasn't unmarried from the donor car it won't work, The guy I got it from sells SAAB parts and says he has sold lots of them and all they needed was tech 2.

On the later 9-3, I believe that you just need to add the device. it doesn't need divorcing. That was only on the older cars. I've not tried it, and you may need Security Access on a 2008 car.

And what if they are still locked; is there any way around it?

I have been given two head units for my 01 93 but the owner of the units has emigrated to Oz and I can't get hold of him for an old reg plate or VIN...
