Hello All,
Any one know where I can purchase a mini coax type aerial for the Denso Sat Nav. It uses a smaller Aerial connector than most standard ones. It's driving me mad not being able to connect my IPOD.

The place I bought my convertor leads from is no longer in existence. But try a search for the maker "Scosche".

I think that this is the part I bought. But this is a manufacturer's site in the USA.

Yes I did find that one on Ebay oddly enough and began searching with no avail.
That denso Sat nav is proving a right pain in the bum to try and keep. Prefer OEM stuff but making it sound better. But given the fact the Saab use some crazy system to run everything I'm too lazy to get shot of it all and start again.

Thank you though.

The Denso sat nav is so out of date, it's almost useless. No update maps available from Saab. Copy discs will damage the unit. Land Rover discs will work, but real ones are over £100 each.

You can't add your own points of interest.

You can't use it if the car is moving, which is a pain if you want to divert from slow moving traffic, because the passenger can't use it.

And if you have a map disc in the slot, you can only play CDs from the boot changer. And with no AUX in, you can't play from anything else.

I changed the lot including the car aerial which is now in place of the shark fin.

Does seem like it is heading down that way to be honest. Everything else appears to be a right faff of stripping bits out.
I've got lots of speakers and amp's around that I can put in place and just direct it all from new seems to be the way to go.

Wasn't there a 2016 disc knocking around in the other thread though.

I have used the Sat nav with success and I don't find it that bad at all.

The satnav is OK, it does navigate. But the only map that doesn't damage it is the original disc and that is at least 8 years old now and that probably the maps themselves are two years older.

I just used it for the last few miles to places I didn't know.

Just nice having it integrated. But I guess its either live with it or swap out the lot seems to be the only real solutions. Other seem to not give you the full fuctionality or you get limited sound / fuction / quality any other way.

Shame really.

I even tried to tap into the CD Changer port to add it that way.

I hate that unit with a passion. I've toyed with using it's fascia with a kenwood DNX5220, and even tried hacking the aux-in like the AS2 head unit but with no success. Did I mention I hate it?

Your best bet if you are handy with a soldering iron is http://bluesaab.blogspot.co.uk/
Fools the unit into thinking the cd changer is still there and allows Bluetooth audio to be squirted into the cd changer audio channel. Steering wheel controls work for next/prev and they are working on the track listing on the Sid...

Managed to buy one on amazon that would post from the mighty USA.
Very strange no one supplies them in the UK...

Oh just to recap. Used a couple of small spoons to remove the stereo. Plugged the adapters in and wired in the live to the stereo. Works perfectly.

Well as good as an Ipod emulator can do through the aerial. Not the best solution but ripping out the full stereo losing the sat nav and steering wheel controls I can live with it.

Shame really as the Saab stereo's really are a bit poo. Still it works and I am happy.
