Pondering taking a day off for some fun at Croft with OpenTrack on July 4.

Anyone else up for it?

Price includes Tuition, Photography, Snacks & Drinks and on that date there is a generous 105dB noise limit.

It's a good circuit for Saab Turbos, we ran 2 Saab trackdays there about 10 years ago, very successful apart from Martin having a close encounter with the Armco and Neil Brightman suffering oil starvation on his Viggen...

Erm, no!

But I love Croft.
Such an technical circuit....
...and that hairpin. Really needs an LSD.

My favourite - sunny in and sunny out

Come on, Kev...at least come down and take a ride... You're right about Sunny though, I went into the first one slightly sideways in the. C900 trying to outbrake Ron (Phoenixsaab) out of Barcroft...

Jeff, assuming that the car is sorted by then, a plan it may be!

Grand job...did it pass?
I was assuming you'd have yours sorted, I was more worried about mine but hopefully Wes will get it back together (still minus 6th gear) this week, if the parts arrive from Abbotts.

Yeah, Croft is a great circuit.
Huge rewards for smooth driving.

Probably my scariest was through the Jim Clark Esses at speed having passed AndyAero's 370bhp 9k aero.
Car went light and floated out of track.
Took some effort to pull it back in and stop it snapping wide and spinning the car off.

The vid of Croft on SOULFIRER TV shows this, watch for this area after passing Andy. Car got loose, my focus drifted, and I can close to wipeout.

Lol, must look that one up again, Kev. Andyaero couldn't drive for toffee, that much was evident from your vids...

I've only ever spun once at the 'Esses' and to the outside of the track (left) but luckily enough only during qualifying.. :o

Found that VIDEO, Kev - comedy lines and braking points from about 6 mins in, and I guess the moment you're talking about, when Soulfirer runs a tad wide out of the esses, is at 8'30"...

Looks like I should be ok for this, apart from needing to duck out a couple of times for some calls with work :wall:

I'll get it booked once the 9-5 is home and MOTed...

Bugger...turns out the ex has to be away that day so I have to be on kiddie duty Monday/Tuesday, no way I can make it now. Much as I love time with the kids, I'm gutted... :wall:
