Hi guys, Giles here. Great to meet you guys and thanks very much for helping me out when the car cut out, especially the guy with the multimeter that found the disconnected rectifier. Hopefully meet you again some time, I'm hoping to make the 1/2 day in November

As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, my gearbox is on it's way out, though I'm tempted to give it a helping hand on the 29th, need a couple of tyres and some decent pads before that.

Good to meet you too, at least we were able to prove us Saab folk aren't just bullies who close the track  .

Cheers,

Lucas (guy with the multimeter and ginger beard)

Car is good to go :D Will do a few hundred miles this week and see if any issues crop up. Couple of small jobs can be done during the week like taking the electrical connectors apart and cleaning them. The combination of oil and dry powder after steam cleaning sure does leave a horrible mess.

Message for Kev, soulfirer, got your PM but don't seem to have the ability to reply??

May be operator error but also won't let me send you a separate message, not enough posts.

Giles

Took a few vids of today's track day up the hill once the fog eventually cleared... (just on phone)
As we couldn't get the laptop to connect to the ecu the car was only running .9bar boost but good shake down since it last went on fire eh  oh and bedding in new brakes..
Chap came and spoke to us, and told us Lionel Abbott was his uncle....

And Giles was up with the fireblade engined Caterham

Left for Knockhill this morning at 8.45 weather here was cloudy but dry, Knockhill is only 20mins away but as we approached it was hidden in a thick mist. Track day was supposed to start at 10, it was some 2hrs later the mist lifted and the track opened. But in the damp conditions it was only minutes before the red flags were out with recovery and ambulance taking to the track. A rather sorry looking Volvo arrived back in the pits. It opened again and I got out for a 6 laps just to see how car felt and to bed the pads in. Another red flag and the mist had descended again. Decision was from circuit was to wait til 2pm and if mist had not lifted the day would be cancelled and everyone would get a credit. It finally lifted about 1.30.

As Mike said I could not get the laptop to connect to the car so stuck in base boost .9 bar. :wall: it felt
rather pedestrian, it was still revving to 7000rpm in 4th but taking a while to get there.....Apart from that there was a couple of minor issues but nothing that prevented me getting a good number of laps in. One big plus the tyres, I am very impressed with the Avon ZZR's

Kev were you and the 9000 hiding in the mist :corn:
