Sorry to hear FB broke, never fun heading home without your car, done that too often.

Hope Jeffs story is not more pain!

Will await Wess's summary of what happened to your 9-5 wagon.

Have you took that rather nice 9000 out yet Kevin????

Sorry to hear about your 9-5 Al. You're having no luck at all are you. Looking forward to hearing more about the day. I might have to knock a little track car up for summer.

When the AA,RAC,green flag etc collect a broken down car next to a motor circuit, do they give a nod of 'so you just happened to breakdown here' or do they genuinely not really give a thought to the how's and why's.
Granted a saab may not look like an obvious track day car.

It's just so frustrating Kev, because it was running really well in the morning, the only thing I needed was a dry circuit to get some decent traction. It's quicker than it's ever been now and pulling really hard right up to 6000. I kept an eye on the air mass and I reckon there's enough there to get within sight of the magic "400" number now.

Temps were fine, the agricultural manual fan switch did the trick, I didn't see over 94 on track and 105 when cooling down in the garage, so nothing at all to worry about. FK why the pump decided to seize up with no noise or warning.

As to the clutch, I really don't know what's going on there.

Not much at the moment mate, bugger all in fact.

Jeff also had to be recovered from J29a apparently. He left the circuit minus 4th gear to limp back home. Didn't make it.

Wessy's car ran like a dream - it's down on boost to where it should be with a T28, but it's still quick, and very grippy on decent rubber. He was only slightly slower through the tight stuff than the CaterField brigade, and about matched on the quicker corners.

Some pretty interesting machinery there though... Several Porkers, a tricked up twin turbo Supra, a Vantage V8, the Elite I mentioned, an early TVR Vixen, a Lotus Europa, an Ultima, a variety of BMW M3s in various states of modification - lots of dedicated track stuff and not so many road cars.

Just a T28 or a gt28rs etc?

Be interested to hear the spec Wes.

Had a fantastic day, traction was difficult in the wet with no diff but once the track dried and was able to fit the slicks, it totally transformed the car, for its 1st outing I was well chuffed.
Roll on the next one.

That's a right gormless grin on the mush of the dodgy-looking bloke in the left hand seat, Wes...I'm guessing he was enjoying the ride  :bag:

Mine ran ok in the wet but as the track dried out the tyres started to struggle so during the lunch break a very nice man who helps Stu with his car helped us fit some coilovers and a set of R888's which totally transformed the car, ran 15secs a lap quicker ☺
Big thanks to Lee, Stu, Jason and Ade for all their help☺
Roll on Marham

Not literally I trust.

Looks very wet in the morning. Am I remembering correctly that in the past there's been "debate" about Donington in the wet with aviation fuel being dumped prior approach at the nearby airport?

"Past" could be 30 years ago

Yes there has been debate, but I don't buy the argument, there is no sign of oiliness on the surface and if there was, it would affect dry grip too.

It was a bit slippery, and with less than ideal tyres.... :argh: :loco:
