Very interested in this for fairly obvious reasons, something I'd like to do myself but as I've started with an OHV I don't want the extra weight so will use a Duratec instead. Can't help you with wiring etc I'm afraid, maybe PM Froggy, he does silly things putting B2*4s in cars and I've learned a bit reading through his threads.

What gearbox are you planning to use and how far back are you mounting the engine? Guess you'll be cutting the tunnel and a bit of the bulkhead back?

Welcome aboard , Nige on here is the man for his little relay kit with diagrams and you just need the engine loom and a chunk of the cable from the bulkhead connector . The wires to add are for the map sensor and boost control solenoid as the aren't part of the main engine loom . I can sort you out with a kit to build a rear well sump and a log type inlet manifold with the throttle body at the right end for rwd use .
Bang for buck the Saab is out there on its own but I would definitely rear well the sump as I've sold a couple of kits to people finding out the hard way .
All the info is on here and there are folks who will sort you a good stage tune to suit your hardware with the later t7 boost valve .
Speed signal isn't vital but can be sorted easily enough , there is a sticky in the knowledge section if you need it .

Best money I spent was on the can USB lead so I can see what's going on and data log so any mapping or running issues can be quickly resolved .

Lol always have thoughts of icecream but now you mention it
But its early days yet got some body work to do then source all the hardware
Keeping it simply tuning wise I think for a while so an omega box will do
But been looking into bmw boxes as an option, wondering about bmw powered diesel
Omegas whethers theres a bellhousing pattern that matches

To be honest its early days not even bought an engine .I think the magnum gearbox tunnel is a little bigger
Than a viva and the engine bay is quite big for the size of the car so hoping the should'nt be too much
Cutting

have you looked at bmw axles? my friend has a triumph stag with a v8 fitted and the triumph axle isnt up to the job,hes fitting a bmw axle as its stronger and apparently easier to locate firmly.

No not thought about the bmw axle as the magnum is a live axle so location would be difficult the scimitar
Has a 4 link and watts linkage so not too different

bmw dieselengined Vauxhalls have the bmw boltpattern on a Vauxhall gearbox, so they don't fit the Saab engine.

BMW E30 rear axle is independent and quite easy to fit under a car. Quite a few final drives available for that too, even 2,65:1 for if you wan't to go fast on low profile 13"...

Are you on vauxhallviva.com? There was a guy on there who put an E30 axle under his 2 door, but never finished and ended up splitting the car. His thread should still be on there somewhere

Rear axle of a Volvo 240 (1031 axle - year 1981 onwards) might be a good alternative. Works for me under an Opel Ascona-B (B204 310BHP/420Nm).

As for the gear box in a RWD conversion...

Right now I use a Aisin Warner 57 (W57) from a Toyota Supra MA61 (MKII 2.8 6 cil 170BHP). For more info look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_W_transmission.

Another option would be a Getrag 265 (6-cil Vauxhall's 1980's-1990's an BMW old 5- and 6-series, etc...)

The bellhousing pattern of a B204/B234 is the same as Opel/Vauxhall with 1.8/2.0 OHC-8V & DOHC-16V engines. I took a bellhousing of a RWD Manta 1.8S. Maybe a bellhousing of a automatic transmission of a 2.0 Omega would have been easyer/better.

'Loof for the differences': 1x BMW E30-M3 Getrag dog leg gear box with Manta 1.8 4-speed(!) bellhousing and 1x Toyota Supra MK2 Aisin W57 also with Manta 1.8s 4-speed bellhousing

De Getrag 265 is somewhat easyer to fit to the bellhousing as the prise-shaft is longer and will therfore allow more space for an adapter.
