They will hopefully be fitted whilst I am home on summer leave.

Spend a day cleaning the interior tomorrow if the weather is still ok.

Cheers Espin.

Just trying to get all the finishing touches done and small jobs done whilst I have the car up here so I don't have much to do at home and hopefully complete it soon :)

Hopefully getting the clay bar out later to sort the finish out (need it looking like glass and shinier)

So, which panels are not already like a mirror ?

Looking good. 8)

Who are you using for the hockey stick graphics Adam ?

I fancy some on my white 99 but not in silver. Red might work or blue / yellow.

Cheers

There is over spray on the roof from when the bodyshop painted the engine bay. I'm planning to do the whole car just to be on the safe side :)

There is a company on ebay that does saab 99 rally graphics. They are the same pattern as the blue/yellow ones as previously shown on this thread. They are twice the width of the standard hockey stick stripes but I prefer them wider. They will make them in any colour.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350497320980?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Here is the link to them.

Thanks Adam,

I had a look but could not find the Hockey Stick Graphics on that site.

I have asked a question re. Hockey Sticks and now await a response.

Cheers

Do you want her private email address?

If you take the photo off this thread of the black 99 with the blue/yellow hockey stick stripes and ask for them stripes in one solid colour without text.

Managed to fit an LPG kit to the 99 today. 100 litre tank in the boot!!!! Will get some photos of the setup tomorrow.

Driven nearly 2000 miles in it already and is running great. Slight niggle with the started motor but thanks to Birdie I now have one I can rebuild and fit which should sort the problems out.

Started work on the badges this week too. Will get photos of these tomorrow too.

I'm happy to say that it is now just a work in progress project and will constantly be evolving whilst still in full use.

Unfortunately the weather hasn't been the best this week, but it gave me a very good opportunity to get the T16S out and take it for a spin for a couple of days.

Next major updates will be in the 1985 T16S project thread when I get round to sorting out it's restoration.

Been really busy at work this week and not had chance to take any photos of the LPG system yet. Should have time over the weekend though.

Have just bought the 99 turbo R/C car off ebay too so I'm going to try and replicate my car!!! and put the bodyshell onto a nitro chassis that I already have.

Equating back to petrol prices it has done 61mpg!!! 11.2p per mile!!!! Not bad for a 2 litre!!!!!!

Been and collected a new cylinder head from Birdiemango today so I can start to build it up with my new camshaft and twin 40 webers.

Great stuff Adam,

Very interesting. What sort of mileage per year would justify the expense ?

Looks like it is all or nothing with the gas, have you disconnected the petrol or can you switch back easily ?

Cheers

Well I bought all of the stuff off Ebay and converted it myself so it was cheap to convert.

The petrol capability is still very much there, and at the flick of a switch I can run either LPG or petrol!! Between the 2 tanks of fuel I can do nearly 1000 miles without filling up.

Nice work, how do you stand insurance wise etc... I know some companies will not insure unless fitted by a certified installer.

Look what arrived at the end of this week............................
Image

Saab 99 R/C car!!!!

Time to start finding out more details about it. Apparently it is extremely rare!! I have only found 2 others in existence.

Does anybody on here have any details on this model? I will be recreating my 99 once I have repaired the small cracks in the bodyshell.

Adam

The kit is a TIC Mardave MINI Stox kit. :geek:

Only ever seen it once before.

The shell is likely custom made as the usual shell for this chassis would be classic MINI.

It seems they still sell new kits but obviously just the same in terms of format rather than purely as parts. You can see the chassis has been changed to the sort of fibreglass composit rather than aluminum.

After quite a bit of research over the weekend I have discovered that there appears to be only 4 in existence!!!!

The Mardave Ministox chassis is different as it is rear wheel drive and mine is front wheel drive.

I have managed to repair the bodyshell today so that it is ready for painting when I am home again as I am away in Germany for a week.

It would seem that this model is a lot rarer than I first thought when I bought it!!

I think there are a few versions of the Mardave kit. There are some which look like yours with the motor at the front.

Look at the other similarities such as very wide small white wheels and the wheels with a cog drive directly on the wheel. Sure, your one is from about 20 to 30 years ago... but I'm pretty confident your chassis is an old MINI Stox.
