Will give it a good clean tomorrow and get some more photos taken.

Is destined to become a turbo replica, or as close as I can get it.

Adam

will be taking the centre console out and fitting a turbo centre console as I prefer it.
will be using the original engine for now, looking into possibly fitting twin webers onto the engine rather than a turbo. Just making it look like the 99T.
Not sure if its sat too high at the front, only picked it up this afternoon.

Seen that one up for sale quite a few times, nice looking 99 though 8)

Looks fine at the front, just standard suspension and more than likely 165, 175 or 185 tyres.

Very solid 99, just needs some attention the brakes and then should go straight through another MOT.

Decided to give it a cut and polish today, ready for a photoshoot. Still quite a lot of cleaning to do, but won't go too mad on the cleaning as it will soon be stripped down and prepared for a full body respray.

looks plenty of life left in that paint.will you replace the white stripes when its repainted?
you are going to need a chin spoiler to create the 99t look. interior looks tidy too. seen tha car advertised before too. nice motor.

Looking very nice, are you intending to keep the same colour?

It's a pity it will lose those period body stripes.

Going to be resprayed black, with inca wheels. On the look out for turbo front spoiler for it. Not sure whether to replace the side stripes yet. Adam

That's come up good, I'll bet your arms ache, hard paint isen't it.

To many black ones, do summat different.

How about Acacia Green Metallic or Carmine Red Metallic, I know what I'd do to it though and you won't see another one maybe in the world apart from a 3 door in Sweden.

Pearlino Natre Metallic and colour code the wheels like the original 3 door prototype.

I did a 3 door Combi like this in about 1982, is was Opal Green.

And something to get you excited and inspirational.

Just my opinion of coarse.

Cheers

Started stripping out the 99 today and getting it ready for some welding to be done. Haven't found anything major, all just plates that need putting in, nothing structual. Can get these sorted, then the car will be Taxed and MOT'd. Hopefully it wont be long before I send it away for the respray. Back in Scotland next week and then will be home again to get the welding done.

Here are some pics of the places that need welding on the inner rear wheel arches.

Thanks. Is a good start to a Turbo replica. Main thing I wanted was a solid body shell to work with (looks like I got my wish) Adam

Got the carlsson wheel fitted during the week. Stripped out the remaining interior in the way of the areas that need welding. Going to make the plates required next week and hopefully get it sent away to be done.

With the help of Birdiemango on here, I have now sourced a twin Weber inlet manifold for this car. I want the look of a 99 Turbo but something a bit different under the bonnet.

Will update more next week hopefully.

Adam

Been to see Martin at JamSaab today. Collected some more parts from him and had a good chat. Very helpful. Pleasure to deal with him and will be going back for more parts as and when the time comes to need them during the rebuild.
