Hi All,

I am new to the site.
I have just bought a 55 plate 93 Vector Sport 1.9TiD 150hp for the use as the family wagon. Was running a 53 plate Honda Accord 2.4 petrol Tourer which was a nice car with lots of toys but was just too expensive to run so decided on a diesel and found the 93's were now in my budget and the wife liked them :D
This is my second Saab as i used to own a P plate 9K Aero as a weekend toy 4 years ago.

Anyway back to the current one, it is in fairly good condition with 58K miles. Has a scrapped on the front bumper and a couple of stone chips and scratches to sort. The wheels need a refurb aswell.
The future plans are:

Aero bodykit (wife saw an Aero and said I want mine to look like that...yey finally a pass to modify)
Refurb alloys
Fit xenon lights
Sort scrap on front bumper
Coloer code rub strips and handles
Get it remapped
Clean up the calipers.

Will post some pics when I get home and its light...

Regards

Jez

On the 9-3 the label with the tyre pressures and paint/trim codes is on the lid of the glove box!! :)

It looks like steel grey or smoke beige from the pictures, but it's difficult to tell accurately. A bit dark for silver or parchment silver.

I think it's metallic/mica? If it's a flat colour it may be dove grey - very rare.

Thats why i couldn't find it looking in the wrong place

It is grey rather than beige. It might be a flat colour as it doesn't 'sparkle'. I seem to have a habbit of picking rare colours for cars so can never get the right colour parts!

Will check the code in abit.

Been a bit slow in doing stuff to the car but have got round to giving it a service and got the timing belt changed on Saturday.

Boy what a difference its made. The car pulls quicker and smoother and is running quieter. Was definatly over due an oil change. I am going to do this every 6k now..

Have got the aero rear spillter and a back box waiting to be fitted. Also got the aero front splitter just needs painting.

Sorry to be a bit of a wet blanket, but don't forget to tell your insurers of any mods, including the bodykit. Don't give them any reasons to void the policy or decline a claim.

Always do nowadays. Also as i am insured with Adrian Flux the policy doesn't always go up & sometimes gets cheaper! :geek:

My weekend toy off a Rover 420 GSi Turbo is cheaper to insure modified than it is standard

Still slow going with the mods, but finally fitted some Xenon headlights from an Aero. An reasonably easy swap and now can see better in the dark.

The only problem is i get right and left side dipped beam failure. Is this because of the voltage difference between the xenons and normal bulbs. Can this be reconfigured with Tech II?

As you are with Adrian Flux, always insist that you get confirmation of modifications they have on record in writing. They have been known to not declare them to the underwriter and it can cause all sorts of hassle at claim time.
