ok, so maybe they are not quite as much of a niche car as the c900 Carlsson, at least not yet (but I do think that they will become more desirable in the future).....and many 9000 owners are not so much of the enthusiast persuasion, but I feel it is time to start compiling a list of the 9000 Carlsson's that were made. I admit I may not get all/many of them, but feel that this is something that should at least be started, as it will prove a useful resource.
It is made a little more complex by the various different body-styles, but here goes anyways........
Please feel free to add to the list, and update on the details of any that are known to have gone to the scrapyard in the sky.
Here's a breakdown of the actual numbers made:

9000 Carlsson (2.0 and 2.3) = 346
9000 Carlsson CS (2.3) = 129
9000 Carlsson CD (2.0 and 2.3) = 122
Total = 597

Flat front (X/346)

F303 RAN - black
F732 SLM - black
G422 SDV - black
G155 LUJ - black
G733 TGJ - red

H460 UVG - blue
91-G-5848 - red (in Ireland)

What i would be interested in is out of the 346 how many were slopey front 2.3s and how many were flat front. There always seem to be plenty of flat front crop up, so the slopey front may well be becoming rather rare.

9000 Carlsson (2.0 and 2.3) = 346
9000 Carlsson CS (2.3) = 129
9000 Carlsson CD (2.0 and 2.3) = 122
Total = 597

Flat front (X/346) 2.0 engine only

F303 RAN - black
F732 SLM - black
G422 SDV - black
G155 LUJ - black
G733 TGJ - red
G881 XRG - red
G211 TTN - red

J141 LHA - Black

I went and looked at that car just over a year ago i think it was. Didnt take it at the time as i found the rear arches had a fair bit of filler in them plus i found a fair bit wrong with it. I always wondered what happened to that car. At least now it is in the hands of an enthusiast who will look after it a bit better than it had been. It had changed owners i dont know how many times in a matter of months. Despite whatever condition its in though its a rare car and that style is my favourite out of all the 9000s.

Yup, I swapped a Rover 200 for it from espin9000 June 2008. It was ok, few things wrong, but is an ongoing project. Not too much filler on the arches, has been patched up a bit better now, had 2 new front wings as they were rotten, new front bumper and a respray - oh and a new gearbox, and when I did the gearbox I put a lower mileage engine in it; new front suspension, 3" JT, and the rear suspension is getting done this year! It still has a fair amount of work to be done until it's perfect, but it's my rolling project and I love it to pieces! Yes, I'm the 13th owner too, but that is not putting me off - I'm not planning on selling it any time soon, so that isn't bothering me. I feel I "rescued" it from the hands of another uncaring future owner or the scrap yard.....

Good. it sounds like you have already done some of the areas i found at fault. bet it already looks miles better with the front end tidied up especially. Check the boot floor rails underneath at the back also, as i think i can remember they may have been a bit rusty aswell. I tidied my Carly up just last weekend. Sprayed the lower part of the front bumper, Knocked a bulge out the dirvres door and cleaned up the wheel rims. Just doing that and giving it a good polish made it a different car.

Ok, will check that thanks! The spare wheel well is like a colander at the moment, so will be more than likely replacing the boot floor when I tidy up the back end. Has also had the floor in the drivers side footwell cut out and replaced as some muppet had pushed a mound up in the floor with a trolley jack or similar.
Its good to see that you have taken on another one though, as a perfect compliment to your 900 Carlsson too!

Have you looked at any of the brochures / marketing material for the Carlsson?
I seem to have it in my brain that the later 9000 Carlsson CS 2.3 (= 129 UK regs) was UK market only and so a dealer conversion, later supplanted by the 2.3 Aero. An email to the 9000 register at SOC might give the answer.
I could be talking complete balls of course

I have read this somewhere too, they were basically the first 2.3 Aero's. Do these have TD04's and T5.2 then anybody?

Was after a mint one at the time and i wouldnt say that the one i have now is mint but it is very tidy. Thats the problem with these though. Finding a good one is near enough impossible. They all seem to be in red also. The one i have now is structurally and bodily solid, hence the reason why i bought it. Just needed bits tidying up really.

Regarding the drivers floor. I have found that if you do jack the front up by the jacking point it can break thorugh the floor with the weight of the car. It seems a really weak point on them as weld of the floor to the sill is not very substancial. The same thing happened one day when i jacked up my old 1991 9000S. It wasnt rusty either. So it was a case of removing the carpet. Hammering it back down and then rewelding it and sealing it.

Weak point point on all 9000's, the jacking point is designed for the scissor jack only, a trolley jack will crush it and deform the floor. Yet another 'put right at some time' thing on my list ...

Mine broke through with the scissor jack. I think i was maybe a bit unlucky then. :wall:

It would be handy if this topic and the C900 carlsson list topic would be put up as stickies as they always disappear down the list eventually. Also i think there is a 99 turbo list on here somewhere aswell.
Or what about another forum section this site and have our own Uksaabs vehicle register for each model.

K** MGM slope front
Black, lives in Carlisle, owned from new by Saab master technician, 115K last time I peeked in the windows. Never goes on the road in the winter and looks like it just came out of the showroom.

Nope,
They were T25 turbo's, DI/APC and had no real body kit.

the 1st Aero's were 1993 and TD04/T5.2 long block 8.5:1 cr engines with Carlsson style 16"rims
the 2nd Aero's were 1994-1997 with TD04/T5.5 short block 9.3:1 cr engines with super aero 16"rims
