PAS rerouted and AC delete.

Need some better brakes

Hoping to crack 500bhp once forged, run around 1.7 bar, picked a few brains on the way. Will get some pics up soon. Its not a pretty and polished build, the bonnet has been bashed and it has black aero bumpers and moss over it but it should add to its stealth.

Added a few more pictures.

Yeah I am looking forward to it myself, gone past the point of no return, still quite a few bits that need doing to it too.

Nice pics! Oddly I think it looks better in the smaller wheels rather than with the hirsch ones but that's the sleeper appeal.
Look forward to seeing it do some 20mph and up runs!

Thanks Quad on both counts.

Collected gearbox today, few problems with parts missing from the kit I bought which I had to order from Quaife along with requiring 5th gear syncro ring which I had from a spare box.

Gearbox guy recommended the following gearbox oil from here:

Time to put it all together! Exciting times ahead!

Thank you for sorting the pictures, this's the first time I've seen them and wow, serious work your doing!

Love this build, looks like a true sleeper in the making! Who would have thought that Cavalier wheels would look so right on a 9-3?

Can I ask for your feedback on the steering pipe you have used? I'm considering doing the same, are there any issues with making up a hose like that?

Looking forward to the progress on this one 8)

Thanks, I think it looks well on cav turbo wheels too shame they aren't wider.

The braided hose is pretty easy to do, I watched one or two videos and had a go, probably takes around 10 minutes per end. There are special spanners so you don't mark or damage the AN fitting but they cost. Doesn't leak and has been fine since. I'm not happy with the way I routed mine as it was a quick bodge to get car back on road.

It was expensive for them 2 parts from America though, think it was about £50!

Hope that helps.

Bit more progress today, managed to get the flywheel and clutch on.

Not happy with this Quaife gearkit I bought, just hope it lives upto the headaches.
It was missing the main shaft nut which I had to get from Quaife. The reverse gear collar needed a 20 degree chamfer and has about 1mm-2mm of play. The atb only comes with 11 bolts I think and needed a 12th as the original only uses 11 and has a cut out where the 12th should be.
The input shaft is also had to be cut down by 50mm as it was proud of the box so would bottom out against the engine. I needed another synchro ring for 6th gear (same as 5th, luckily had a spare box) which wast in the kit and also was missing a bearing, the gear selector shaft also needed about 2mm taking off it for it to slide into where it sits.

The gearbox builder done an excellent job and I would highly recommend him!

I noticed the steering rack gaiters have come apart so that's another job while engine is out. Tomorrow is another day....

That flywheel and clutch cover - things of beauty. Fabulous build.
