SCIROCCO'S ALSO ..................MINE DID 0-60 IN 6.3 SECS.........LEFT IT TOTALLY STANDARD,EXTERIOR-WISE,AND WAS BADGED AS A BOG STANDARD 1.6CL...................HA, 8) HA

ALSO HAD A 1977 VW PASSAT IN SILVER,WHICH THE LACQUER HAD ALL FELL OFF.......IT LOOKED A MESS................VALVE STEM OIL SEALS HAD GONE, AND IT SMOKED LIKE A PIG...................
MANY YEARS AGO, IT WAS MY DAILY DRIVER AT TECH. COLLEGE.............I WAS SCOFFED AT BY THE FELLOW MK2 ESCORT BRIGADE................AND WAS CHALLENGED TO A RACE :shock:

THEY NEVER TOOK THE MICK AGAIN :lol: :lol: :lol:

haha i owend (if any body has ever heard of it or remembers it) a vw santana 2.0 5 cylinder is was a gold beast aero dynamics grafted from a slab of cheese but fully loaded with e/w, e/sr ,c/l , e/m, p/s, and that awesome 5 cylinder purrrrr shortly after i owned a 2.2 audi 90 quattro and again what an awesome car just wish it was a turbo really good fun......

WELL AT THE RISK OF HIJACKING ME OWN THREAD,BACK TO THE ''CLARION PROJECT''.......................
FROM STANDING SO LONG THE HEAD GASKET HAD GONE FOR A PLOP................
THE WATER PUMP EMPTIED OUT,AS FAST AS YOU COULD FILL
IT UP.............
THE FUEL PUMP HAD SEIZED UP.....................

THE ACCUMULATOR HAD SPRUNG A LEAK................

AND THE FUEL PUMP RELAY HAD DECIDED TO PACK UP AS WELL..... :roll:

AND THIS ALL HAD TO BE FIXED BEFORE I COULD START WORK ON IT PROPER................ :twisted:

HER WE ARE BACK TO THE COLOUR SCHEME,A WHITE BOOTLID IS WHAT IS REQUIRED............BUT THIS IS A RED ONE :!:
THE ORIGINAL BLACK ONE WAS FULL OF RUST AND DID NOT FIT PARTICULARLY WELL..............TRIED A BLUE BOOTLID ,BUT THAT DIDN'T FIT WELLL EITHER..............
TRIED THE RED ONE,BUT STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE CURVATURE OF THE 'POINTY'' BITS AT THE TOP OF THE BOOTLID...........................SO PAINSTAKING,SHAPING WITH BELT SANDER AND METAL-FILING CORRECTED THIS...............

BEFORE,RUBBING DOWN,PRIMING,GETTING RID OF A FEW DENTS,AND A TWO-TONE COLOUR SCHEME................

The guy I was talking to in Halfords this morning has a few Uno turbo's. Apparently, if you replace the T2 with a T3 you can get up to 190 hp! I know you aren't really crazy for turbo's Birdie - but I reckon that'd be a hoot to drive! Are you going to put some pictures in your last post? Seems like they're missing. When you're finished your Clarion you can start fixing the rust on my 99! :)

ENGINE COMING OUT NEXT,TO WELD IN SHAPED BULKHEAD(WATERPUMP)FROM A 'H' TYPE ENGINED 99................SO I CAN STICK ANY ENGINE I LIKE IN IT........... AT A LATER DATE :D

I CAN ATTACK THE ENGINE BAY,AND THE WINGS AS WELL.................ENTIRE ENGINE BAY AND UNDERSIDE OF BONNET WILL BE IN WHITE.........TO REFLECT HEAT.........WITH ALLOY HEATSHIELDS,HAND FORMED ,ETC, WHERE NECESSARY

Did you use paint stripper to remove all the sealer/soundproofing, i had to do a few patches around rust holes and used POR strip to remove the gunk, could imagine it getting quite expensive on a whole car though :?

The best and most effective way to remove underseal is to use liquid nitrogen.

NOPE.I HAVENT REMOVED THE INTERIOR FLOOR SOUNDPROOFING YET............COS THE CAR IS FULL OF STUFF INSIDE :lol:

PERSONALLY I WOULDN'T PUT PAINT-STRIPPER ANYWHERE NEAR MY CAR..............FUMES IT GIVES OFF,THE MESS IT MAKES.......AND VERY DIFFICULT TO GET RID OF THE RESIDUE..............OF COURSE THAT IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL :D

I CHISEL THE SOUNDPROOFING OUT WITH A DECENT OLD ''WOOD CHISEL'' AND A RUBBER MALLET...............IT IS SOUL -DESTROYING STUFF,AND MUCH EASIER TO DO IN THE WINTER,WHEN IT TENDS TO BREAK UP,EASIER.............
IT WASN'T EVER MEANT TO COME OUT AGAIN :twisted:

I HAD JUST RUN OUT OF LIQUID NITROGEN...............WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT :cry:
