Yes. And an estate. It's on a full Hirsch upgrade but the ARBs are not changed and are original. "Code J".

Yes. The car itself is 11 years old tomorrow!! :)

I bought it in October 2007. It's approaching 158,000 miles now. Would have been a lot more if I hadn't retired!!

That seems a lot of difference. Also SAS only sell as a pair front and rear. Anyone experience of fitting rear only? Lift off oversteer?

I have SAS ARBs on FB3, with Eibach springs and B8s.

They do keep it incredibly flat compared with stock. The car works well on track (though I think stiffer springs would help further) and in the dry, no issues with oversteer unless you're a complete numpty. In the wet, you do have to be a little more careful - although you can also use it to your advantage. But on a very soggy Donington last April the only issue I had was a lack of traction from the front end, the back stayed where it was put.

Definitely worth a crack, but only if the rest of your suspension is sorted - I can't recall what you have.

Yep, then the SAS bars are worth a punt I reckon.

Even if it was, they wouldn't make it any less pleasant to drive - the whole thing with ARBs is they don't affect the ability of the car to soak up big bumps and undulations at speed as both wheels move in unison - they just reduce body roll. Well, I suppose you could say they will make it slightly harsher over potholes and the ripples you get on the inside of bends that only affect one wheel, but that's marginal.

Can I not tempt you to sell me yours still? lol

Still keeping hold of FB3 I see.

No rush anyway as I won't be doing much driving in her until the spring so that then brings up another dilemma. Do I hold off on the bars and save for a quaife......................................

 Sorry, not a chance. Unless someone wants to give me a suitably sized wad of folding beer vouchers (or electronic equivalent) for the whole car, it's going to stay here until I get time to sort it. Which may not be for some time...
I really need to crack on with finishing the 96 but even that stalled a few months back :wall: :bag:

By the way - it's going to cost you a lot more, but the Quaife is THE best chassis mod you can make to these cars so, if you can afford it, I would do that first. Or just say sod it and do the lot

Do you still have the issue with 6th dropping off and the driveshaft popping out?

Picked car up tonight after having it in the shop for a few weeks. Some paint correction on the rear bumper has come up lovely and I had a question over whether the front brakes were binding but after investigation they aren't. They just need using. I've only done 50 miles or so in the car since September! I also had a Jamsaab quick shift fitted. Lovely. Significantly shorter and more direct throw. I would recommend one.

Hoping to get hold of a pair of SAS anti-roll bars in the next week or two. Looking forward to that. Will update.

Jimbo

Update:

Not had the car since I used it for the weekend end of January. On returning from Derbyshire the front brakes intermittantly started to vibrate again! :wall: And this was after giving them a good work out over the weekend (keeping up with my mate in his modified S2 Elise  ) So I dropped it straight back to the Schole Engineering.

Due to the weather I haven't rushed the garage and there were a few other things I wanted sorted, namely oil and filter, brake fluid and a slight vibration around 75mph plus some more paint correction/detailing.

Jason phoned Thursday and hopefully a 'brake' through (see what I did there....) regarding the 6 pots. being stood a little while they noticed possibly a piston sticking and corrosion between the ally calipers and the steel pad sliders (think that's what they are called) causing the pads to not sit correctly and bind.

Being stripped down and cleaned and the SAS bars have arrived so being fitted, probably next week.

I've been doing some man maths over the last few weeks trying to justify (cost, not the benefits) of getting a quaife fitted at Abbotts before the summer arrives..................and a lightened flywheel..................and......................

Watch this space.

Jimbo
