Nice one 8)

I thought there might be a few more gains to be had with a little fettling

The reason there are two holes either side of the boot lock is because a previous owner decided to fit a later larger badge.

It was held in place with filler :loco:

Ahh that explains it. I had visions of a hasp and staple with a padlock ha ha.

I picked up a good lock with 2 X keys, it will be fitted tomorrow but the cosmetics may have to wait until I get back from offshore in a fortnight.

Yes it's much better thanks, still aching and a clutch or belt change are probably not the best jobs to do with a dodgy back, but it's all done. I had concerns that the clutch might slip, but the T16s clutch performs well, thank good ha ha.

The Red tubing has gone, it was not really my taste.

I do love the Zebra furry door cards, they really lift the interior. They deffo add 2-3 horsepower ;-)

I always think Wino for some reason but I rarely drink these days.

According to a work colleague, Apparently a local chap wants to buy the plate, he's knows as "Dilly" & the WNO has some significance too.
It's a strange looking reg number though, there is no hiding in this car.

Does that mean you don't have a matching suit to blend in with the door cards? :( :(

I fly back from work on Thursday and hopefully the car is where I left it over a week ago because I am really looking forwards to the 3 1/2 hour drive home and straight to the MOT station.

The plan was to take the car up to the Yorkshire moors over Easter for some fun and frolics on those lovely roads, but the Trouble n Strife scuppered that by buying herself a new motor and insisting we take that instead. Oh well, next time.

The plans for it this time home are to fit the boot lock (I think there is a piece missing because the arm on the lock barrel doesn't reach mechanism on the inside of the boot. I will investigate more next week.

Fit replacement passenger door window motor.
Fit new speakers including under seat woofer and sort dodgy connection on the head unit.

Begin rubbing down areas of bodywork and priming ready for the respray in the coming months.

Source replacement front screen and rubbers.

Prepare Flat front bumpers and lights ready for flat fron conversion.

Fit OE quality Valeo reversing sensors, not cheapo Chinese ones.

Etc etc

It's getting a full respray, not a complete strip down but all external surfaces. I think it is ready for it with its 50 shades of white as you said Mal.

I won't be parting with this in a hurry, it's just too much fun.

It is also getting a brake service, it didn't like being hauled up in quick time at 70. It wandered like a drunk on ice. I have new discs and pads if required for the front. I suspect the rears just need a good clean up. It stops well in normal driving conditions, just not at a clip, so to speak.
I would rather avoid the expense of fitting 9000 brakes if I can.

I really enjoyed the drive back home yesterday and straight to the MOT station. The car passed with a couple of expected minor advisories, which is a great result.

Sadly for me, all work on the car is on hold until the middle of next month due to work comitmemts.

That's true.

The White wolf AKA "the flying shed" got a beep and a thumbs up from a "loser" in a Brand new Renault Clio Turbo yesterday. His face was a picture. ha ha

The cause of my dodgy braking / handling appears to be worn anti roll bar bushes. So that is poly bushing and, while I am at it, lower springs to add to the jobs list.
That should sort the handling too.
I can feel a trip to Cadwell coming on........maybe....or maybe not.
