Nice one, back on the road soon then Julian :D

Its probably going to be spring before it hits the road again. In the meantime I must sort the garage out and move the V4 on after Christmas to make room.

If I said I was pining for the car, it would be a massive understatement.

All change.

It’s taken me 18 months to get my head around it being stolen.

The car is currently at a specialist body shop. it has been jigged and is having a new wing fitted and new driveshaft tunnel welded into the O/S.

It’s a start.

Its a good job that I held onto it because I have let so many good cars go in the past and this almost went the same way.

The current status is:
"A" pillar straightened with little effort, the door fits and operates perfectly. O/S wing removed. Panel beater surprisingly wants to use the original damaged bonnet because its in great condition apart from the collision damage.
Windscreen is out for welding /repairs to the bottom corner.

Still to do:
O/S Drive shaft tunnels.

Once its back I will take the engine out to have the engine bay painted while I fix oil leaks, check steering rack and any other minor jobs on the engine.

The car needs a new n/s front hub assembly which has impact damage, so i am on the lookout for one of those.

Happy days.

Glad you’re bringing her back. I lost my first 900 to a falling tree and though I don’t think it could realistically have been repaired I still think ‘what if’.

I think once a tree's uprooted itself it's a goner tbh.

Work is progressing well at Peter Garth body shop in Beverley.
Jigged but no issues or chassis damage.
Door pillar straightened and door fit spot on.
Bonnet repaired by experienced panel beater and looks great inside and out.
New wing fitted and spot welded as per manufacturers original spec.
Screen removed and lower O/S corner repair in progress.
Strip down, glass out etc and full respray to follow.

Watch this space.

Gotta pull the engine when it comes back. It needs seals at the very least and a good once over.
I’ll assess the steering rack but will probably swap it out for peace of mind.
It was quite an impact, so I’d feel safer fitting a recon unit.
It still requires some electrical fettling, a new front screen and a good alarm immobiliser fitting.
I can’t wait to get it back on the road and pop to the Lymes for brekkie.

The foam spoiler is being swapped out for a cool bridge spoiler.

Should the spoiler be white or black?
I’d prefer white but what are your thoughts?

I think thats a really difficult decision without seeing both options. I can't find anything online showing a white one. Sometimes white accessories on a white car can be 'too much'. Its absolutely your decision as its your project, but for what its worth I would probably go black, but would definately try and find some images of both options to act as guidance.

White is too much. How about white on the top and sides and black for the underside and supports?
