More progress on the Wolf today, new 195/60/15s fitted plus a new wheel to allow all directional wheels to be in their correct places. The front tracking and camber was also set up and it has improved the feel of the car.

The squealing release bearing is being sorted on Monday, A new clutch, slave, bearing and bleed are being Sorted with assistance from my old mate Mr Pepper from Hull.

Next step, remove radio and fit a double din unit in the centre console. The radio aperture will have gauges.......you can never have too many gauges ;-)

Then new discreet speakers, amp and under-seat subs.

It's coming along nicely and driving is a real pleasure.

I took it out for a run about today and I am amazed at the difference a few tweaks have made to the ride, drive and handling.
I love the quick-shift from Jamsaab, it's transformed the car for me.

Out and about today before clutch job tomorrow and a 1000 mile round trip on Tuesday.

I threw some water over it this afternoon too :-)

Wrong clutch delivered today, so no 1000 mile round trip in the Wolf. A hire car it is then.
I have had better days.

It will be sorted in the next week or so. Stage 1 clutch to handle the extra power is planned.

Nice one Julian, I cannot recall if it was stated in the history that it was a later engine.
I know there was some handwritten notes on the upgrade from one of the previous owners, in the paperwork that was handed over.

I contacted JonSaab who carried out the work, he seems a nice guy and very helpful.

My plan is to get the car into reliable shape for spring when it will become my daily. I am not too bothered with cosmetics, although there is some minor corrosion to attend to.

Apart from the back pain I am really enjoying working on it.

Flitting between jobs today to suit my sore back.

Most of the Red conduit removed, it was just not to my taste......Sorry Vince.

Flywheel removed, crank seal removed and a good clean up.

Header tank removed and currently soaking in the bath (in a bucket) of hot water and 2 X dishwasher tablets overnight. Hopefully it should remove some of the brown scale inside.

I invested in a 20t press, so Once I have put it together, I will replace flywheel bearing and compress new clutch With ease for a change.

Overnight soak of header tank removed most and softened the remaining Brown sludge/scale.

Next step today is put baking beans into the tank, pop in a dishwasher tablet and boiling water. Give it a good shake on and off throughout the morning and hopefully the inside will be spotless.

30 years of grime now gone, just discolouration/ Patina remains.

There are many ways to skin a cat.

These seals are awkward to say the least.

I tried all sorts with my c900 tank, including dish washer tablets, bleach, grit etc. but it won't clean up. I'll be interested in how you get on.

See pics above. It was in a shocking state before I cleaned it up. As mentioned, I used ceramic baking beans inside to remove the stubborn scale, it's all gone now.

Top tip.
Don't tape finger of latex glove over outlet, fill bottle with boiling water and watch finger expand until it bursts Ha Ha.

More tape........more tape ha ha.

New Black Silicone hoses arrived today to replace the remaining Red hoses.

I have decided to keep one piece of Red conduit in place out of respect for Vince's hard work. It runs over N/S wheel arch from the main fuse box.

Pics to follow.
