Hi, great improvement under the bonnet and a real incentive to tackle mine. Did you manage it by moving items aside and lots of masking off or was it an engine out job?

lots of masking and removing items to spray or paint by hand but firstly cleaning off grease and oil...

I have been looking for a source for that chrome, where do you get it? Is it the same size on a flat front 9000?

Vince sourced from the link I forwarded earlier in this thread.

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=157699#p1507864

It is not an exact match for the original, but it is the nearest to original available.

Yes, it is the same size (14mm) as fitted to the flat front 9000.

I've now been running Blanco for just over four months since Vince and I exchanged V5's, Vince taking a noobed 9-3SS in exchange.

Blanco has mainly been used at weekends and for meets.

He was also pressed into daily service for 10 days while replacement PAS pipes were sourced and fitted to my 9-5.

In that time he has not missed a beat and has shown a clean pair of heels to quite a bit of modern metal.

Jobs done so far include a replacement bonnet (requires painting as its silver) and a replacement parcel shelve.

The CD Player has been replaced with a period Radio Cassette and a SAAB cassette holder has been fitted.

The electric aerial has also been replaced with one that fully retracts.

Hi,

You note on page 1 that it has 9000 2.3 injectors.
But im seing regular Beige injectors. Which are correct for a B202 16v Turbo. They max out at about 220bhp.

Dont think you can put Saab red Aero injectors onto a bosch LH Jetronic. Would probably just over-fuel like crazy, and there is probably no one left in existance who could remap an eprom for a old LH system.

Not my words or the previous owners, thats whats written up in the history.
All I know is like Vince has said it goes like stink.

Its certainly the quickest 16valver I've owned and I've owned a good few, so somebody has waved a magic wand over it and tethered it to a few more horses.

I wouldn't have thought the injectors would be from an Aero (no-one has said they were). More likely from a pre-Trionic 2.3T with LH 2.4.2. With a suitable map (people still remap LH, I believe) it would sort out the fuelling for a tuned 900.

No car is ever a keeper with me Dave, I become too easily bored with the same car

5 months is not a bad period of ownership for me though :D
