So a few bits ordered now.

The double Y's will be sent off to be refurbed soon so have a set of Spare 17's to go on with some new Uniroyal rainsports

Viggen clutch kit is ordered as the original is slipping in 4th+5th on what

3 bar map sensor is ordered also

So I basically have all the bits for the next stage. The plan is

TD04 15t from a 9000 (have)
Bigger FMIC (have)
3 bar (ordered)
Viggen clutch (ordered)
Blue bands (have)

If I feel a bit underwhelmed by the 15T then i'll get my spare 9000 td04 hybridised to an 18T

At least it's consistent :) I think a TD04 is in order. I'm not sure whether to go for a 15T or 19T with a 7cm exhaust housing....I may even try a 15T with a 7cm housing just to see what happens

Dyno vid to follow shortly

Who wrote the map mate?

That was me (well some of it really) I started with a B204R map and used the wizard to go to stage 3 and tweaked it from there

Been musing about a chinese 19T and VXR injectors this past week however there's a lot of conflicting info on restrictors etc

Well done pal. Can you remember what the wizard stage 3 map gave you? Take it the last dyno was done with the standard cross flow intercooler in.

Wow. Does it suffer from heat soak much after multiple pulls? Might have to get in touch with you about that map. If I can get my potential Coupe purchase to that power I'll not bother with the TD04s I've got lying everywhere.

Yeah, as you can see on the dyno chart on the second pull i'm starting to lose power with the heatsoak.

I find with that map it kind of divides opinion, as it's set up to drive the way I like it. I.e it kind of delivers the power like a big power/high revving N/A engine, it makes you work for the power rather than delivering a big slug of low down power (technically nicer to the driveline as well)

More progress with the modding side of things :D

The Viggen clutch and new CSC had arrived a while back, and seeing as it was my first weekend off since starting new job I thought it'd be a good idea to fit them

So armed with some new parts I set about the car yesterday
Image
Image
Image

Probably the easiest subframe I've ever removed (I also found my mystery knock whenever I accelerated hard or braked hard...The subframe bolt through the curved arm was slack
Image

The clutch wasn't the worst, but it was slipping in higher gears under full load ever so slightly
Image

I took the opportunity to fit some new lower arms, drop links and drop link poly bushes as one of the ball joints had a small amount of play
Image

Also took the opportunity while the subframe was off to do a sump drop, and I was pretty impressed at how little crud was in the sump (peace of mind though)

(pic is after cleaning obviously )
Image
Image

So the car got a full service at the same time and refilled with Millers oil...Also had to do an oil change on the gearbox as I thought it would be like the 9000 box and have internal splines on the intermediate shaft, I can now safely say that gearbox oil tastes as bad as it smells . The gearbox was also filled with Millers stuff and it seems a lot better with it.

If I get a chance tomorrow then it will be getting the 300mm rear disc conversion and some other little odd jobs.

300mm rear disc conversion done :)

(pardon the primered arch, it'll do until I can get it properly repaired and sealed)

And an engine bay tidy up

So some updates, the only real change is fitting a bigger FMIC and slightly different intake

Trial fit
Image

Made up some brackets to hang it from the bumper crash bar, and mounted it 'upside down' so I didn't have to do any cutting

And the intake (still to make brackets for this)
Image

It came out quite neat
Image

Also I have managed to get my hands on a TT hybrid TD04 for it, so that will be getting fitted in the near future along with the 3 bar and either the blue band injectors or VXR ones.

Cheers

Spent a couple hours clocking the TT hybrid and giving it a clean :)

Image

I've figured the best route for me to take is probably gonna be braided lines rather than adapting the standard steel water ones....also might have to make a new downpipe

I had a day off today and decided it was time to give the car a good clean. Managed to get rid of most of the holograms in the paint from past polishing efforts

It'll be going in for a new set of Rainsports on the front this week also

9-3 is looking very nice Steve.. would the fmic not have gone a bit higher to keep it above the bumper lip.. hope you don't go catching it on kerbs, speedbumps etc...

I'd be sticking a sacrificial lip under the bumper for a bit more audible warning on kerbs etc...looks good
