Well having Everard on the road for the last months as a semi daily runner we have managed to prove the conversion and refine the tuning etc...

Sadly he never really felt as fast as the number say he should be.........

So back to MSA he went for storage and a good once over as and when time allowed......

Now (we) MSA are currently doing a 99t16s conversion and fitting T5 at the same time so having a ready converted and running car on hand was very useful !
Until we got to wiring in the BPC/APC.
Now some of you may have heard that you can convert t5 to run the later 2 wire t7 valve. This is done because the t5 valve is 3 wire(power up /power down) can become unreliable where as the 2 wire ( power up spring loaded down) is more reliable if slightly less refined.
In the t5 loom there are two green and one blue wires that run to the valve. One of the greens is the power and the other two are the earths switched by the ecu.
As all MSA's modified ecu's are set up to run the two wire valve we had to cut out the redundant earth switched wire.
So off to Everard we went to trace out which one to cut..............

Only to find that there was no power to the valve on Everard! We had two switched earths tho..........
Ah that will be the 16hour days and midnight finishes coming back to bite us!!

Suffice to say that both cars now have a live to the APC and Everard is much faster and much happier.......

Every days a school day....

Mark
