I purchased this a few weeks back, not actually advertised for sale, more of a 'by chance' conversation which lead to me having an extra car. I am not really in the position for another car, I already have 5 and one of those is a nearly finished '76 99 EMS. These don't come up too often, so I knew I had to make a decision or it would be gone.
Condition is really good, just a few little jobs to sort and it will be even better, engine bay detailing, suspension refresh and the usually sporadic central locking problems associated with the early 900's needs to be addressed.
I'm sure many of you on here will already know this car.

Beautiful car, it may be an unconventional view but I think the best 900 model is the 8 valve 5 door. I’d love another one!

I had a 81 900 T8 5 door identical to that one, same colour too.

I haven't really done much to it since I got it home, just a quick check over and mental notes of what I want to do next.
I have been gathering parts together, I have a complete rear axle, blasted and powder coated, new B6 shocks and a set of poly bushes to go on, I also have a rear ARB, not sure about fitting this, I probably will. So that is a new rear axle all sorted.

Will over in Sweden/Norway watching the WRC I met up with Jorgen and we discussed gearboxes and parts issues etc, amongst other things. Went out for a spin in his 900T fitted with his new 8.8 primaries.
I got one of his 8.5 kits, this may or may not go on the '81, or I might pass it on, it would suit the 900T really well though.

Just had a look at Jorgen Eriksson's facebook page. Interesting to see some of the parts he is having manufactured. Also interesting coments regarding 9:33 vs 9:35 final drives.
So you can get EP75 gear oil from Saab Klubben?

We were talking about future parts to be manufactured, one of them was a new reverse gear and how to go about it.

When I got the car home and had a closer inspection, I noticed the early dealer rear window sticker was starting to crack and show its age, so before it got any worse I had a replica made for when the inevitable happens.
