Look forward to seeing what's left after the jetwash has been over it!

Me and uploading photos on here don’t go well together... I shall ask for help from a certain shopkeeper! But I will say SLN is cleaning up very nicely :D

Send them over Peter, I may not be able to upload until later this afternoon as I have to nip out soon.

Depends what it's like underneath really but initial impresion is it's got to be worth saving.
Wondered if it would be 1850 or 2 litre. Quite nice to see it's 1850 really.
Rev counter is a bonus!
Any idea when it was last on the road?

Failed last MOT March 2007 at 46607 miles.
NSF body corrosion which was an advisory the previous year.
No other corrosion mentioned though.
Wonder if it's been outside since then or kept under cover for at least some of this period.
So could mean it was taken off the road due to MOT failure rather than mechanical issues.

I'm guessing 1850, engine looks like the one mine had when it arrived. Cleaned up pretty well, considering. Does it run?

Ooh, I've just spotted it's got a rev counter...!
If you decide to chuck it in the bin, first dibs on that... (assuming it works)

I've not yet tried to turn the engine over, weekends are just too short!! I did try and pass the car on to Ian Law but apparently it's not enough of a challenge for him!!  As the days are getting longer and Easter is fast approaching, I hope to get the chance to offer it a bit of fresh juice and a fully charged battery soon. I'll keep you all informed 8)

So, plan for this weekend is to finish the cleaning inside and out, roll it into the barn and check if the engine is free. If it is, check levels, fit a battery and crank it with a bit of fresh fuel... What are the odds on it starting? I feel strangely optimistic even though it has been standing for a decade or so. :D

It's certainly possible; I mean, there's not a huge amount on them to stop it working!

Quick update on this one: did a bit more cleaning inside and out, removed the Bedouin tent that was the headlining, pumped the tyres up (with one literally exploding in my face :park: ) and towed it into the barn. Removed plugs, squirted a bit of oil down each barrel and gently rocked the car backward & forwards in second gear. Result! Engine free and moving effortlessly. Plugs back in and rigged-up a temporary fuel feed to the pump. Fresh battery and cranked it over a few times but no joy as yet plus it was getting ruddy cold in the barn so called it a day. I have a niggling suspicion the float in the carb might be stuck so may whip it off in the morning to have a quick look. Other than that, the mechanical fuel pump may have given up or else it is electrical...
