Father Christmas has been very good to me this year. After seeing my nephew open all of his Christmas presents, dad took me to his garage so that I could help him pick up some more stuff for the day. When arrived there was a surprise waiting for me inside............

Left FDZ 6989 like this in August!!!!

I was under the impression from dad that this car was going to be a donor car for my other 9000 Carlsson.

It would appear that Dad has been busy of the last 5 months, without my knowledge, rebuilding it and getting it back to being roadworthy ready as a surprise for me.

After seeing all of the parts that have been used, I would like to thank a few people who have either supplied parts, or have helped with the work: -
Espin for the original headlights, grill and DCC from FDZ that were sold before I bought the car.

Yogi900 for the bodykit, front wings and 16" crosspoke wheels.

Amanda, at ID Genie for replicating another set of Carlsson stripes.
Image

Rich at RML Services who has helped to complete the relevant welding required.

The parts I had bought were initially spares for my other Carlsson but I hadn’t realised that dad was in fact using these parts to resurrect this car.

Dad has found the reason for the water leak in the roof, the sunroof cassette was rotten, so this will be replaced with a glass sunroof that had been initially bought for 132 ACJ (my other 9000 Carlsson).

Merry Christmas Everybody!!!!
Adam

Adam, what a Christmas present! I'm so glad the parts you had off me have been put to good use rather than sat in my shed, and thanks for your thanks! Happy Christmas! :D 8)

Dad has been busy at work today..................... The headlining biscuit has been covered. Unfortunately the original headlining biscuit was missing when we got the car, so we had to source another biscuit. This was dads first attempt at doing a headlining, and I must say it looks very good to me!!!!

Next job to do is glue all of the edges down tomorrow, change the sunroof for the glass one and then fit the headlining.

Dad has definitely done a great job so far resurrecting this car.....................he always manages to work wonders. Glad to see he has managed to save yet another rare car from going to the scrapheap in the sky!!!!! I'm extremely lucky that I have a dad that can do this and that I get the pleasure of driving the end results!!

I checked my phone this morning and saw a message from dad...............he has trimmed the 'C' pillar trims already..........of course whilst drinking coffee!!! He claims that FDZ is making SLOW progress..............I think I need to buy him a dictionary so he can look up what the word SLOW actually means

Dad has been busy yet again.......................
'C' pillar trims, parcel shelf supports and parcel shelf fitted.................parcel shelf has been painted as a temporary measure as it was badly faded, we will be looking to retrim the parcel shelf, parcel shelf supports and 'A' pillar trims to match
Image

Boot trim is completely fitted............
Image

Spare wheel well has been cleaned up ready to receive a newly refurbed spare wheel..................
Image

Spare wheel well now houses a newly refurbed 16" crosspoke wheel :)
Image

Pile of Carlsson parts is not rapidly disappearing meaning the end of the build is insight :)
