Car Model: Looking to buy
I’m looking to dive into tuning a 2.8 9-3 with an automatic gearbox and I’m seeing that a lot of manufacturer sources are saying that the max torque this gearbox can take is 450nm. However, pretty much every remapping company is offering torque figures above this. Is this so they can achieve a headline figure leaving destroyed gearboxes in their wake? Or are people doing spaceship mileage on remaps above 450nm no problem? It might be important to add that I, until recently anyway, often travel to Germany by car so I use my car hard, plenty of flat out runs from 75-130+ mph. I’m already eyeing up a radiator and intercooler upgrade to allow the car to continue developing power without overheating.
