Car Model: 9-5 DE Aero Maptun stage 3+
Hi all it's been a while since I was on here but I just bought my 10th Saab after a few years out and I'm looking for some advice please.

Car in question is a DE 9-5 Aero running approx 320bhp with maptun stage 3+ software with map tuner, abbott intercooler, abbott exhaust inc downpipe and race cat, 3.5 bar fuel pressure regulator, standard turbo and standard injectors.

Questions are:

1) Is this a realistic power figure with this set up? Exactly which type of TD04 does the aero run? 15/16 etc compressor wheel? What boost would it be running to get this kind of power?

2) What should I look out for longer term with regards to reliability/preventative maintenance?

3) Dunno what the torque is but it has a maptun spec 6puk clutch. What's the torque limit on these?

4) What's the long term prospects for the gearbox (manual)

Nice to be back, and thanks in advance.

Jimbo

Pretty sure Maptun don't go as far as 320 with the standard 15t turbo? That's pushing the standard turbo beyond its efficiency and not sure the standard injectors could cope?
Anything above 300bhp Maptun upgrade injectors and turbo?

So I'd think it's not running that much or it has upgraded parts?

Maptun do I think do bespoke tweaks if you have the maptuner to get the best from the car but I thought they only did this if you had their hardware too?

Sorry more questions than help there

I know nothing about the manual gearbox, but the power seems about right. I've run 300hp for the last 130,000 miles on the auto with no issues and similar hardware.

Are the brakes bigger?

Maptun 6 pot front brake upgrade inside 19" Hirsch three spokes

Looking on the Maptun website stage 3 starts at 290bhp with 320bhp coming under stage 4

Looking at website it's effectively stage 6 to get to 320- with bigger turbo and injectors

And how has your turbo behaved? Is it stock?

I fitted the Hirsch upgrade. It was supplied by Saab and didn't affect the new car warranty! :)

Bigger airbox
Bigger intercooler
3.5 bar fuel valve
Remap
3 inch downpipe and sport cat.
3 inch twin outlet SS exhaust.

Turbo is standard.

Upgrade only available at that time (2008) with the bigger brakes and wheels. I fitted the suspension upgrade too.

So this was my car. I took it from standard to all the mods (bar the abbott intercooler which the guy I sold it to did).

It pulled 313bhp on the rolling road at Neo Brothers open day. That was with a standard clutch that was starting to slip and a standard intercooler. The rolling road was fairly accurate as other cars were pulling exactly what the owners expected and a Ferrari 360 pulled its factory figures to the exact numbers!

You have a fantastic car.

I suspect that the intercooler and MapTun clutch may give you a bit more power - but would certainly give you more torque in any case.

this car just ran perfect. Even the guys on the rolling road were surprised at just how well it did.

Anything I can offer you as help or advice on the car please shout. Really pleased to see it stay in UKS ownership!.
