Hi , i need a new clutch kit, and want to use saabnnobs map, what clutch would you recommend?
Dont want a hard racing clutch, just something capable of handling extra torque, any suggestions appreciated

We would need to know what sort of torque it needs to withstand in order to give a good recommendation. Are you running the standard turbo with a 3" downpipe? (TD04HL-15T)

Standard Aero (Sachs) clutch will cope with stage 3 if you are careful. After that the only one I'd trust would be the Sachs Race Engineering one but they are not cheap!!

That is a standard Sachs clutch. Yes , should be fine at the levels you are quoting.

What sort of money and where can you buy one from?

Is it pressure and friction plate?

Any mods required? (I seem to remember faero doing something to the rod on his clutch master cylinder to make sure the clutch fully separated during gearchanges??)

From memory around £700 , direct from Sachs or from Abbott , there are a few places you can get them.
You used to be able to only use the cover and use a standard friction disc but they changed the design and you can't any more.
Some have adjusted the length of the MC pushrod , I've not had any issues with mine though.

I would be talking to Jules_HT on this forum if i were you re Mapping.
275 Is right for the stock downpipe and induction. As such the stock Sachs specific 9000 Aero clutch is fine. These can go to about 350bhp if your nice with your torque curve.
Speak to Bill on this forum Saabits.com he can source them at a good price.

A few mods to the induction and fit a 3" downpipe and you can go to 300bhp on the standard Red injectors and TD04. (1.4bar boost).

I might be buying one soon, just to keep "in stock".

Recently found a brand new boxed Saab one for my sons 92 2.0t, for just £50. That was a bargain.

It was indeed!
I don't suppose there's much of a market for those.

Especially since you can fit the B234 longblock clutch if you swap the flywheels over too ;)

Indeed handy to know. Might have to do that one day since he keeps on about heading for 400bhp. Kids, honestly dont know were he gets it from....
