Ok so until recently I had been either using sainsburys petrol or shell normal stuff.
I started putting in Vpower a few weeks back and it has made a big difference.
I have a 120 mile daily commute so mostly motorway driving.
Keeping a record of mpg I used to get 36-39 mpg which was always 1 mpg less than trip computer would say.
Now I am getting 40-42 and calculating manually it’s about 0.7-0.8 more than trip!!!
Also car is more responsive.
Anyone else experienced this?

It's a simple case of higher octane ( the petrols ignition point is slightly delayed ) so the engine timing can advance which is more optimal .

Yes, and I've always used Shell V Power. :D

Saab turbos will always reap the benefit of higher octane fuels due to APC.
If using Shell, make sure you collect your points every visit. Its 3x points with v-power so you can get approx £15 back in vouchers every few months.

I tried Vpower with my old Honda and didn’t make much difference so wasn’t sold on the Vpower thing but the Saab has definitely responded well to it and cost wise works out basically the same with the extra mpg.

Always use V Power, also in my 97 STi Impreza - and even in my lawn mower  (saves any mix up).
My 'standard' STi made 326 bhp (factory 280) on V Power and a bottle of NF race - and there were loads of new PPP UK STi on the same day that we're running bang on the power they should have had. The V3 STi is a bit different though - wilder cams and big turbo, likes to rev as well, redline is 7500.

Since my Jules remap, Momentum, runs brill on it. Tried the standard stuff and it misfired occasionally when getting spanked, particularly on the BP standard stuff.

Always run mine on Shell V-Power whenever possible, stick it in the motorbikes too.

2.8T gets V-power.

The Honda and the Golf get whatever fuel is most convenient for me to put in there. Invariably that is Tesco fuel.

I may chuck toluene in mine from time to time at a ratio of 10% approx

It does feel like it adds a sense of urgency to the car on WOT, but as I reverse into the garage and it does change the smell of the exhaust, I try not to do it too often.

My Aero definitely responds better with BP Ultimate in the tank rather than Shell V-Power. It’s not placebo either, I can definitely feel an extra bit of oomph from it. My old 9-3 Tid definitely preferred the Shell over BP though. Strange innit? Mind you, there’s been a few BP stations changing to Jet where I am so might have to get used to V-Power. Anyone any thoughts on the Jet premium stuff?

Tesco 99.
A few times a year i add 10% thinners too.

Last month I run 2x tanks of 95 Ron as it’s that was available in the area and was fine on a long motorway run but as mentioned mpg was 2/3 less
