Well, thought it was about time I got some of the pictures up of the 900. Took a bit of work, and still alot to do but here are some of them.

The day after I picked her up, not washed, just the way I bought her and looking a bit sorry for herself

Pre washed and treated with APC, under wheel arches, door shuts etc and power washed, followed by snow foam soak to get rid of the rest of the green junk, then washed by hand. I won't bore you with the step by step, but it did take about an hour.

After which I put her in the garage under full spectrum lighting which helps to identify paint faults. All prep work was done at this stage to ensure the paint was ready for polishing using 3M graded polish and pads.

By this point the paint was coming up really well, however some areas did require we sanding to remove deeper scratches. Once the paintwork had been brought back up, it was on with the refining to remove and compounding marks and give a crystal clear finish.

Of course it wasn't just the paintwork to do often people only think detailing is just paintwork correction, so the interior also fully valeted and steam cleaned, door shuts, wheel arches, sunroof aperture and engine were all done as well.

Another quick shot of the bonnet during the process, didn't really get many during, too focused on doing it and forgot

And now some outside shots, still got loads to do and more layers of wax to add and it's now wearing a set of turbo wheels, I'll post up some more pictures on the next dry day.

She really has came up good I think, the intention was to buy and fix up to sell on, but I have decided to keep her and take to shows, having done concours in the past ( on Fords & Volvo's) I know what's involved and think she has go what it takes, but it won't happen overnight. She has a bit money spent on her in the past and know all the previous owners, one of which wants me to take her to go see him again.

I'll post up some progress as it happens, and thanks for the interest.

Since the last photos were taken she is now wearing a set of alloys, not my first choice of style however these wheels were originally on the saloon and they looked wrong on it, made it look like a roller skate but they ok on this

Still need to replace the trim on the bumpers anyone know the best place to get it?

Very nice, the alloys already like that or have you jazzed them up too?

Third suggestion for Steve too on the strips, I need some too and I'll be bothering him for some :)

Another update on who things are going, bumper chrome replaced purchased from Steve, what a transformation a bit of chrome can do. Had it at Strathaven Classic Car rally at the weekend and managed to get 2nd place in it's class, so chuffed to bits.

A wee pic of the line up with the Saab saloon and our Volvo 850 T5

Off to it's next show in a couple of weeks at Thirlstane so plenty of work to be getting on with.

There's a fairly regular Detailers Forum meet at The Polishing Booth at Leyland, Lancs. All levels of experience attend, hands on with expert tuition and it's free. Alas, you just missed one two weekends ago. :(
