have been using natties wax and had some good results. so, it ran out so thought i would try the more expensive meguiars NXT wax. bugger me that stuff is hard to get off or am i doing it wrong. any help great. i have tried leaving for various times up to 15 mins on the paint but it never comes off cleanly. tried a nearly dry applicator and tried puting loads on. seems to come off better sooner rather than later but it never seems dry.

:wall: :wall:

who is using what with good results?

Meguiars new Ultimate paste wax is a doodle to use and has proved to me to be plastic friendly (doesn't leave lots of white ingrained in it). Just got some last week and is lovely stuff
One thing I would say is avoid putting wax on a hot car that has been in the sun, this can make it difficult to remove the wax. Also a little goes a long way. Try to avoid caking it on, you are looking for a thin fim over the panel so it looks like its wet, then let it haze off.

Meguiars NXT range was always a bit of a dud for me, too. I like the Mirror Glaze range and their #26 for depth or #16 are both good. Easier to use is the newer Ultimate Paste Wax, a range which is really starting to impress me.

For sheer ease of use and fantastic results, I like Dodo Juice waxes. £40 plus might be out of your price bracket.

Ease of use nothing on this planet will be easier than Swissvax, but thats an expensive product (more so with the 20% price increase!)

I would also recommend the use of Dodo Juice.....such a pleasure to work with.

Finish Kar 4000P for me - cheap enough, lasts forever and seems to protect well... and comes off well too!

Yep Swissvax or Zymol for me.
Also using up some Dodo Juice Orange Crush at the moment.

By the way,the old phrase Wax on,Wax Offy means just that.
Why do folk leave it for a period of time???
It bonds to the polish very quickly.

Buff straight awff.

Steve :D

Vic's for summer ... I could go with that. This summer was a bit rubbish and I didn't get to play with that particular wax.

The proble is that your using to much I had the same problem with tec wax a few years ago but now the have brough tec wax 2 out its much easier to remove and being a lover of polishing my cars the tech wax 2 beats everything else hands down 8) Try wetting your applicator sponge first then wringing it out and you will find that then it wont clog the sponge up like when dry this stops it being a bugger to get off as well.Ps Im talking about the bottles of polish here not the tubs of wax as i think personaly all wax is a right pain in the backside so i just wont use it :!:

cheers guys. have started to use a very soft polishing pad to apply thin layers with my da. that goes on nicer but it still goes kind of patchy on big flat panels ie bonnets. i suppose the reflections on the bonnet dont help. obviously vertical panels never get the same scrutiny.

Don't put loads on, use a damp(ish) microfibre towel, you can keep changing areas in your rag then, after you have done with the rags, chuck 'em in bucket of hot water with fairy liquid, it melts with wax off, rinse out and stuff em in the washer, NO CONDITIONER, NON NEEDED, hang 'em over the radiator.

I bought a bottle of Farecla wax the other week, goes on easy and comes off easy, I did the Honda before holiday, then it has 4 weeks and 3800 miles up it, in belting heat, bird muck, sand, dust, flies, rotten leaves from Andorra, you name it, came home, gave it a right good wash and it looked great, bare in mind though I normally polish it about 25 times a year and probably more.

Diamondbrite Used Car polish, you can leave it for anything from 10 minutes to half an hour and it still cuts off beautifully. Might not be up to full and fussy "detailer" standards, but if you want an impressive shine quickly and easily this stuff is hard to argue with.

ok, now using very soft da pad to apply even layer and a micro fibre bonnet to buff off, again with the DA. getting some very good results. Still think nattys is ace though!! anyone got a suggestion for a good 6" cutting pad.
