Feels like I'm asking a stupid question but does anyone have any good experiences and recommendations for buying car mats?

I've had a few for 9000s over the years and they're terrible, poor quality carpet that curls up at the sides, gets in the way and look irreversibly worn very quickly. I'd like some genuinely OEM quality mats, my 9-5 still has it's factory plush set and they look and fit remarkably well after 150k miles.

I'm happy to pay for the privilege and will use an OEM style fixing but every online car mat shop claims to be an 'OEM Supplier' and make 'tailor made, perfect fit' mats and I've never found that to be the case.

I had these mats made from a design that you do online, then they make the mats.
Choose colour, trim and any wording.

£46.99 but very good quality and something a bit different.

They look great but be honest, how difficult are they to keep clean?

I'm looking for quite a deep pile mat and found a few to compare:

I've got carmats4u Platinum in the 9-5, and Luxury in the C900. The Platinum really are nice and well worth the expense. If I was going to get another set, I'd get Platinum in the 900 too.

Thank you, almost forgot they had a sale on until tomorrow so got my order in for a set of the platinum mats.

Thread ressurection, only nine years ! :D
Hi everyone, I wanted to share some good info on some aftermarket saab 9-3 2003 on car mats. I bought a new set of carpet mats for my 2007 9-3 Aero last week. Firstly my floor carpet is dark grey, and I still had the original mats fitted from new. I wanted the new set to look as OE as possible, and by good luck or decent judgement I ended up with a set that I'm extremely happy with both in quality and workmanship and also an OE match to the interior.
The exclusive car mats from carmats4u - Main colour pewter with Anthracite leather edging and Rainstorm cotton stitching. Look superb. The only problem I had was the holes in the OE eye fittings were at least 1mm too small and wouldn't go over the floor fitting to click in. I took the original fixing apart ( easy to do with a wiggle from both sides) from the old mats and fitted them into the new set, sorted. If you don't have others to donar then just run a small drum dremel tool around the hole until they just slip over the floor fixings and clip into place.
I have emailed carmats4u with my findings on the OE eye fixings, which they said they will look into. :!:

I did Ian sorry. My pictures won't upload to the site, any ideas why ? A picture paints a thousand words and all that. I really like the red mats but I'd have to pop the OE fixings in if they we're mine ( pennies of eBay and seconds to fit.

Been meaning to get some fixings Chris, they don't move about but it would look a lot better.
As Mal says, there's that thread. I use https://imgbb.com/

If you do change them Ian, you will need to cut slightly bigger holes in the mats for the OE Fixings to fit, I used a 28mm metal washer and marked and carefully cut around the washer with a Stanley knife. ( cut the underside of the mat)

The early 9-3SS only had a metal ring in the carpet. It just hooked over the spigot in the floor carpet. It's the later cars that had the plastic reinforcement in the holes, and they fit tightly over (different) spigots in the carpet.

Have I really been here for 9 years

Glad to here some positive reviews. I received their templates and made a few changes (they weren't far off but not great) and then Covid hit so they shut up shop. Need to dig out their email and see if they're back up and running again.

The fun of fixings will come later as the 9000 has none.
